Does NordVPN affect my internet speed?

NordVPN will impact your speed negatively in most cases. Since VPNs use encryption to secure your network traffic, a VPN is bound to reduce your speeds. But in some cases, NordVPN can actually improve your internet speeds. For instance, if you experience throttling issues, NordVPN can actually improve your internet speeds.

Does NordVPN speed up the Internet?

Internet service providers in most countries are free to monitor your traffic. If you consume too much traffic, ISPs can choose to throttle your connection. So, if you stream a lot of movies or download torrents, your ISP can throttle your connection without you even knowing. This can be quite frustrating.

This is where using a VPN like NordVPN can be really helpful. If you connect to one of NordVPN’s servers, all of your network traffic will get encrypted. This will prevent your ISP from knowing what you do online. When your ISP is unable to monitor your browsing habits, it can’t throttle your connection. As a result, you’ll get enhanced internet speeds.

Does NordVPN slow down internet speeds?

Most of the time, NordVPN will slow down your speeds by 20% to 30%. But, it all depends on how far away you are from the server you’re connected to. Due to latency and overhead, your speeds will get affected negatively. For user reviews, you can also check out Reddit reviews about NordVPN speed results and performance.
