IPVanish VPN Review – [Updated September 2021]
IPVanish is a not-so-affordable VPN service available at $3.75/mo. It has 1,900+ servers in 75+ locations that support torrenting and offers valuable features like Scramble. IPVanish has received an 8.5/10 rating.
IPVanish is a popular VPN service with 1900+ servers in 75+ locations but does not work in China?. Since it is based in the US (part of 5-eyes country), does it hand over your data to US authorities?.
But since this provider doesn’t keep usage logs, offers a SOCKS5 proxy for torrenting, and easily unblocks American Netflix, this VPN seems a good choice. In addition, it has good security features like Kill Switch, Privacy Check, Password Generator, SugarSync, and more.
It is a bit expensive at $3.75/mo when compared with top providers like Surfshark $2.49/mo ), but it’s worth buying due to its strong security.
However, there is still room for improvement in some areas, especially considering its server network is pretty small compared to many other VPNs.
Therefore, for almost complete global coverage and best-in-class security, privacy, and unblocking capabilities, I recommend ExpressVPN as a reliable VPN provider.
I will discuss everything in detail in this IPVanish VPN review. So make sure to read till the end if you wish to find out my final IPVanish rating.
IPVanish Features — Updated in September 2021
|Number of servers||1900+|
|Internet Kill Switch||Yes|
|IPv6 leak protection||Yes|
|24/7 Customer Support||Yes|
Streaming – Does IPVanish support reliable and efficient unblocking?
Yes, IPVanish is extremely good for streaming. Even though IPVanish doesn’t boast on its website, it had almost no issues unblocking US/UK Netflix, Disney+, BBC iPlayer, Hulu, HBO Max, and others.
After testing 40+ server locations, I was able to unblock the following streaming sites:
Does IPVanish work with Netflix and other streaming services?
It unblocks American Netflix, and it easily passed through Netflix restriction when I tested it. Unfortunately, you will have to find a working server because some US servers may not unblock Netflix at times. But, IPVanish offers multiple servers in the US, so you can test different server locations to see which one works with Netflix.
To verify its Netflix unblocking performance, I tried unblocking “Rememory” using a US server, and it worked like a charm. For more information, see our guide on unblocking US Netflix with IPVanish.
Apart from the US and UK Netflix, IPVanish did manage to unblock popular Netflix libraries, as shown in the table below:
|Netflix Libraries||Working (Yes/No)||Speed drop (%)||Buffering|
|United States||✔||15% decrease||No|
|United Kingdom||✔||6.8% decrease||Minimal|
|Japan||✔||32 % decrease||Minimal|
Unfortunately, sometimes IPVanish faces issues unblocking popular streaming sites like Hulu, BBC iPlayer, and Amazon Prime Video. In the case of Hulu and BBC iPlayer, it wasn’t able to unblock them. Don’t stress; just check out our guide on the best BBC iPlayer VPNs to find a working one.
Speed – How fast is IPVanish for online activities?
IPVanish delivered great VPN connection speeds that lie on the higher end of average. In our latest speed tests, IPVanish delivered fast speeds on almost all servers.
Despite only offering 1900+ servers in 75+ locations, I found IPVanish to deliver decent downloading speeds on most servers that I tested with my 100 Mbps connection in my speed tests.
We checked three things in speed tests:
- Download speed: The speed at which you receive internet data packets from the server end.
- Upload speed: The speed at which your device is sending the internet data packets.
- Ping: The time it takes internet data packets to transfer between your device and server.
First, I checked my connection speed without connecting to IPVanish as a basis for speed comparison for other locations. All the tests were conducted from my office in Chicago, United States. I ran these tests on my Windows 10 laptop.
Speed without VPN (Chicago US)
|Download Speed (Mbps)||82.65 Mbps|
|Upload Speed (Mbps)||79.56 Mbps|
|Ping (ms)||12 ms|
Short Distance Servers Speed
Using IPVanish’s “Quick Connect” feature, I connected to a server in Toronto, Canada, and experienced a slight slowdown in speeds.
|Download Speed (Mbps)||78.42 Mbps|
|Upload Speed (Mbps)||65.35 Mbps|
|Ping (ms)||15 ms|
Next, I tried a Guadalajara, Mexico server and got similar results with a slightly higher ping.
|Download Speed (Mbps)||76.23 Mbps|
|Upload Speed (Mbps)||64.75 Mbps|
|Ping (ms)||19 ms|
IPVanish’s short-distance server speeds were almost identical to my actual ISP connection speeds.
With such a small decrease in the speeds, I could easily stream Netflix and other streaming services without buffering or lags. In addition, I experienced no issue with the local servers, so let’s see how its long-distance servers performed.
Long Distance Servers Speed
Next up, we tested IPVanish’s speed on long-distance servers. Again, I expected a decent amount of speed loss because, naturally, my internet traffic data had to travel to the server that was far away from my actual location.
Manchester (United Kingdom):
First, I started with the United Kingdom server. It took me 15 seconds to establish the connection with the UK – Manchester server. The download speed that I managed to get on the UK server was 71.85 Mbps, and the upload speed was 69.56 Mbps.
|Download Speed (Mbps)||71.85 Mbps|
|Upload Speed (Mbps)||69.56 Mbps|
|Ping (ms)||23 ms|
I also decided to test the Indian server speed as it’s far from my actual location (13,142.80 km from the US).
|Download Speed (Mbps)||69.75 Mbps|
|Upload Speed (Mbps)||65.45 Mbps|
|Ping (ms)||24 ms|
|Download Speed (Mbps)||64.75 Mbps|
|Upload Speed (Mbps)||63.54 Mbps|
|Ping (ms)||29 ms|
IPVanish’s long-distance server speeds were slighter slower than the short-distance server speed, as expected.
The results of the speed test are summarized in the table below:
|Server location||Download speed||Upload speed||Pings|
|Germany||75.34 Mbps||65.81 Mbps||213 ms|
|United Kingdom||69.76 Mbps||66.1 Mbps||321 ms|
|United States||77.31 Mbps||67 Mbps||206 ms|
|France||74.61 Mbps||83.72 Mbps||302 ms|
|Italy||77.84 Mbps||83.4 Mbps||307 ms|
|The Netherlands||61.20 Mbps||77.21 Mbps||111 ms|
|Switzerland||62 Mbps||73.3 Mbps||141 ms|
|Singapore||74.33 Mbps||79.4 Mbps||274 ms|
|India||68.15 Mbps||64.33 Mbps||282 ms|
These fast speeds make IPVanish a breeze for basic browsing purposes and enable a smooth streaming experience. Although IPVanish is not the fastest by any means, it is still fast enough that it won’t cause any frustrations for users, even when performing bandwidth-intensive activities.
Speed – Is IPVanish fast enough for gaming?
IPVanish is a good option for gaming, but its speeds can be inconsistent sometimes, depending on the server location. For example, when I tested the “Quick Connect” feature, the speeds were not as great as when I manually selected a server location.
I tested IPVanish for gaming on the same factors (Download speed, Upload speed, and Ping) as I did in my speed test covered earlier.
For smooth gaming, it’s best to have a download speed of at least 15 Mbps, upload speed of at least 1 Mbps, and the lowest pings possible. At first, it used its “Quick Connect” feature to connect me to its Toronto server (Canada).
After loading Overwatch, it connected me to its European game server. When the game first loaded, I experienced huge lag, but after a few minutes in, it ran pretty smoothly, and I could play it without interruptions.
I then tried connecting to IPVanish’s United Kingdom (Manchester) server to test its performance. It gave a decent speed (70.21 Mbps), considering it was a long-distance server. However, I experience no issues while playing Overwatch online with IPVanish.
IPVanish Server Network
There are over 1900+ servers in 75+ locations in IPVanish’s server network.
IPVanish boasts a collection of both physical and virtual servers, just like many other top-tier VPN providers of the industry. Can you read more explanations about physical and virtual servers in our detailed blog on are physical or virtual servers better?
These servers collectively have a pool of over 40,000+ IP addresses, giving users many options to choose from to bypass geo-restrictions with ease.
While IPVanish’s network spans a narrow range of countries, it still offers VPN servers in most countries that users generally desire to establish connections with.
These include the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, etc.
Does IPVanish work in China?
No, IPVanish doesn’t work in China. I emailed their support, and their support staff confirmed that “their domain is being blocked in China.”
In addition, most VPNs today cannot function normally in China with the increasing restrictions and sophistication of the Great Firewall of China.
However, if you want to access Chinese websites from abroad, you can connect to IPVanish’s Hong Kong server for this purpose. Multiple Chinese websites often work with Hong Kong IP addresses.
IPVanish Security — What security features does IPVanish offer?
IPVanish is a secure VPN service that offers strong encryption and tunnelling protocols.
The provider currently offers a comprehensive list of tunnelling protocols, including OpenVPN, IKEv2, L2TP, IPsec, SSTP, and PPTP protocols.
Undoubtedly, the OpenVPN protocol provides both security and speed under one roof. First, however, you will need to download OpenVPN to your device directly. After that, you can create a secure OpenVPN connection from your device to the IPVanish server.
It largely depends on its 256-bit military-grade encryption to secure your internet traffic and prevents your device from cyber-attacks. Similarly, you can also download the SOCKS5 web proxy that helps users avail the same benefits as a standard VPN. Hence, you can secure your actual IP address and personal information too.
IPVanish provides various encryption protocols to its users. It uses AES 256-bit encryption which is the industry standard and the safest option right now. To choose the desired encryption level, you can go to IPVanish settings and choose from the available protocols.
IPVanish VPN Protocols
IPVanish offers the following VPN protocols that you can choose from:
IPSec (Internet Protocol Security)
IPSec protocol encrypts data packets for tunnelling. It protects all the traffic over a VPN connection and is compatible with most devices. IPSec is not an encryption algorithm, and rather it’s simply a framework that secures online traffic.
IKEv2 (Internet Key Exchange Protocol Version 2)
IKEv2 protocol is available through IPSec and can configure security features or how IP packets are encrypted over the IPSec protocol. With IKEv2, you can easily switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data without any disruptions in the VPN. IKEv2 protocol is supported on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux devices.
L2TP (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol)
This tunnelling protocol is the best choice for mobile phones that are not compatible with OpenVPN. However, it may offer slower speeds as compared to OpenVPN. Also, it may be difficult for some people to use and configure routers as it requires multiple ports.
OpenVPN allows for multiple authentication methods and is typically faster than L2TP. However, for key exchange, it uses SSL/TLS. In addition, it offers two OpenVPN protocols:
- TCP (Transmision Control Protocol)
OpenVPN over TCP is the most reliable VPN connection type. It prevents the loss of even the smallest information packets during data transfer over the VPN. Furthermore, TCP automatically retransmits any possible loss of data packets, so you don’t have to experience incomplete downloads.
- UDP (User Datagram Protocol)
OpenVPN over UDP might not be the most popular connection type, but it is faster because it does not retransmit lost data packets. But, UDP is a great choice for VoIP and gaming where you cannot afford any lags.
SSTP (Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol)
SSTP comes with all the benefits of OpenVPN as it is fast and can bypass firewalls. In addition, Microsoft develops it, so it is compatible with all Microsoft operating systems and devices.
PPTP (Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol)
PPTP is used in older devices and dated operating systems and is the last resort for devices that don’t support newer versions. Therefore, it is only recommended to use for browsing or streaming.
I tested speeds on these protocols to see which one was faster. During my testing, OpenVPN, SSTP, and PPTP connection protocols gave extremely slow speeds than IKEv2 and WireGuard.
I tested speeds on ten different servers using five other IPVanish protocols to give you a rough idea about each VPN protocol’s speed and performance.
The dedicated desktop app of IPVanish packs in five VPN protocols, IKEv2, WireGuard, PPTP, SSTP, and OpenVPN. Speaking of OpenVPN, the IPVanish application should be launched in administrator mode if you wish to use that protocol.
Leaks – Does IPVanish leak IP, DNS, & WebRTC?
No, IPVanish does not leak IP, DNS, or WebRTC. I tested for leaks when I connected to a Las Vegas, US server. I noticed while testing IPVanish for this review that the provider is leak-proof.
IP Leak Test
In the below screenshot, you can see that my Chicago IP address was completely hidden.
DNS Leak Test
No DNS leak was detected in the IPVanish DNS leak test. I was present in Chicago at the time of this test, and as you can see, there was no Chicago DNS detected online.
WebRTC Leak Test
Read our exclusive VPN leak test guide to know more about different types of VPN leaks like IP, DNS, and WebRTC.
I checked for viruses in the IPVanish Windows app file on VirusTotal. It did NOT contain any viruses, and it’s perfectly safe to use. Here is the screenshot of the virus test:
IPVanish Kill Switch
IPVanish takes your online privacy very seriously. It makes sure that all your data is tunnelled and safe with excellent encryption support. Furthermore, unlike many other VPN providers, it offers its users the “Kill Switch” as well.
With the “Kill Switch” option available to you, you can select to turn off all your network activity if your VPN connection drops. Kill Switch is a great tool that is used to enhance your security further.
You get the liberty to turn off all your online activities until your VPN connects again. IPVanish’s Kill Switch lets you turn off and connect the internet again with a single click.
While I was personally testing this feature, impressively, it didn’t fail to work even once. So I was quite satisfied with IPVanish Kill Switch’s performance and highly recommended it to users that often download torrents.
Compatible with TOR
TOR allows you to encrypt your traffic across different servers. Similarly, you can use TOR along with a VPN to attain another layer of protection. This way, you can improve your anonymity to the next level.
Furthermore, you can hide your original identity from online snoopers and ISPs. Luckily, IPVanish is included among those VPNs that are compatible with TOR.
IPVanish uses the Scramble feature to disguise OpenVPN traffic as normal HTTPS traffic, a technique known as obfuscation. This comes in handy in countries with strict policies against VPN usage and heavy regulation of online content. If you cannot bypass geo-restrictions and censorship through normal connection protocols, the Scramble feature can be helpful.
To test this feature, I used it while I was connected to few public Wi-Fi networks that I know to have strict VPN restrictions. About 90% of the time, it worked flawlessly, got connected within few seconds, and allowed me to enjoy complete online freedom.
The IPVanish Android app has a built-in split-tunnelling feature that allows you to leave applications of your choice out of the VPN connection. This is useful when you only want to pass traffic relating to specific apps through the VPN and leave others connected normally to the web.
Unfortunately, split-tunnelling is not available for IPVanish apps on devices other than those running Android.
IPVanish Value Added Features
The US-based VPN service also delivers numerous value-added features that include:
Through the speed test feature, you can check your device’s internet connection speed in no time. It comes in handy when you want to check your upload and download speeds without leaving the app. In terms of speed, IPVanish delivered satisfactory results.
The password generator is another impressive privacy tool that helps you in developing a strong password. Hence, you can protect your crucial information, including your financial data too.
Does IPVanish have an AdBlocker?
Unfortunately, IPVanish does not have an in-built ad blocker. To avoid annoying and intrusive ads, you can use a third-party ad blocker with IPVanish. The other option is to use VPN services like ExpressVPN or Surfshark that offer ad blockers.

Does IPVanish keep logs?
Despite being located in the United States, IPVanish does not keep usage logs, but it keeps connection logs. IPVanish has repeatedly claimed that they have a strict zero log policy. Still, in one case, they handed over the connection log to the Department of Homeland Security.
The Department of Homeland Security approached Highwinds Network Group information regarding a user involved in child abuse and pornography. It’s important to note that even if you hide your IP address from the government, you will still be tracked online and never be completely safe while using IPVanish.
As per their policy,
As previously outlined IPVanish does not collect or log any traffic of its Services, under any circumstances. We may, however, compile some statistical information related to app crashes.
Based on the above response, they are bound to collect users’ information that includes distinct facets. These are:
- Active email addresses
- Active payment methods
Likewise, they also need a name, street address, city, state, zip code, and other basic information to process payments from their users. They also have to store users’ information from their site for troubleshooting purposes as well.
Cookies that IPVanish collects
On the other hand, you can disable cookies on your browser if you do not want them to save your personal information. They also use other third-party services like Google Analytics to analyze and create reports regarding website usage.
IPVanish keeps logs (FBI case)
In 2016, IPVanish was operated by different management that worked with the FBI. As a result, they provided user data to the authorities for an investigation. This is quite concerning as IPVanish claims to be a “zero log VPN.” But it’s important to note that this happened when IPVanish was under different management.
IPVanish is a zero-logs VPN service provider, which means that we do not record any connection, traffic, or activity data regarding our Services.
IPVanish is based in the US, and yes, it does fall under the five eyes country. This means the United States has data retention laws, and IPVanish has to abide by those laws. So if the authorities ask to hand over users’ data, they would have to do it.
When you select a VPN service based within Five Eyes, Nine Eyes, and Fourteen Eyes territories, your VPN connection logs and personal data may end up with the authorities.
Trustworthiness – Can IPVanish be Trusted?
IPVanish has a good reputation in the online industry and is certainly a trustworthy company. It has an impressive Trustpilot rating of 4.6/5.0 stars. As you can see in the below image, IPVanish has received a whopping 82% of the reviews as five stars. This shows the popularity of IPVanish.
IPVanish is a good choice for torrent users. You can download torrents by using the SOCKS5 proxy server that supports HTTP traffic and P2P BitTorrent client or simply use IPVanish’s VPN servers to protect your P2P sessions.
You won’t find any special torrent-optimized servers since all of IPVanish’s servers support torrenting. These servers are designed to protect your privacy and increase your download speed while torrenting — but only the top VPNs have them.
When I tested IPVanish for torrenting, my speeds were fast, and I completed a 2-hour movie download in less than 15 minutes. Just make sure DNS and IPv6 Leak Protection are both turned on in the Connection Settings menu to ensure your downloads and uploads stay anonymous.
As you can see in the screenshot below, IPVanish guarantees secure and anonymous torrenting. I tested this provider with the IPleak.net torrent tracker, and the results were completely satisfactory as my actual IP or DNS wasn’t detected by the website tracker.
With a decent logging policy, P2P/torrenting supporting features, and fast speeds, I’d say IPVanish is ideal for torrenting.
IPVanish: User Experience
IPVanish offers user-friendly apps that are perfect for beginners. It is also quite easy to download and install IPVanish as it provides detailed setup guides for different platforms.
It also automatically chooses the best protocol for your needs, but if you want, you can also configure advanced settings in the app according to your requirements.
Its app is very lightweight, doesn’t slow down your system, and they’re quick to start up when you want to connect.
The app allows you to connect to the best available server and city in a particular country. However, it is wise to connect to a server close to your actual location for the best results.
Easy Setup and Installation of IPVanish
Setting up and installing IPVanish is straightforward. I tested the IPVanish installation on my Windows, Macbook, Android, and iOS (iPhone) devices. Again, it was very clear as I had to go to IPVanish’s website and download the app.
Setting up IPVanish is a 3 step process:
- First, sign in and subscribe to a plan.
- Then, enter your email address and payment method.
- Then, visit IPVanish’s website and download the app for Windows, Mac, or your respective device.
Finally, to set up IPVanish on your device, visit IPVanish’s VPN Setup and download the application on your device.
After the application is installed, all that is left is to launch it, log into it with your IPVanish subscription account details and enjoy complete internet freedom.
What’s best is that setting up IPVanish is easy on other devices, including Android and iOS. It is also faster as the installation process is automatic, so it took only about 15 seconds to set everything up on my Android phone.
For Android and iOS devices, just download the app from the IPVanish official website, and log in. After logging in, it will guide you through the app about its basic functions and features.
Uninstalling the IPVanish app is as easy as setting it up.
To fully install the app on Windows, you have to:
- Uninstall all the TAP drivers in Network and Sharing,
- Go to File Explorer > Local Disk > Program Files > locate IPVanish and click delete.
IPVanish for Windows
The Windows app is quite user-friendly and does not crash at all. It does not take much of your time for installation as well. You will not find any issue whatsoever while using the app on your Windows device.
The Windows app performed above my expectations. I did not encounter any privacy or leak issues when connected to its Indian server.
The IPVanish Mac app almost has a similar interface and functionalities, just like the IPVanish Windows app. For example, in the top right corner, you will find the connect and disconnect tab. Besides that tab, you can turn on and off the kill switch feature and choose protocols.
IPVanish for Android
The app offers an interactive design with a clear user interface. I did not experience any connectivity problems with its Android app. The app worked amazingly well as I connected to its Atlanta US server in no time. Also, you can download and install the Android app from an official Google Play Store.
IPVanish for iOS
IPVanish has an easy-to-use app for iOS as well. At the top, you will find your new IP address, and under that, your new location. At the bottom of the app, it will tell either you are connected or disconnected.
Device Compatibility – Use IPVanish on most devices
IPVanish is compatible with all platforms such as Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, router, Chrome OS, and Fire TV Stick.
IPVanish does not offer dedicated apps for Linux, Chromebook, Roku, or routers. You will need to set it up manually. However, with a single IPVanish account, you can connect unlimited devices simultaneously, making it a great option for a large household – and inducting it into the best VPN for multiple devices list.
IPVanish can also be configured manually on routers, but that is somewhat complicated. So instead, you can see the detailed guide on how to set up IPVanish on routers.
If you want to use IPVanish on devices like Kodi or Roku, you can either set it up manually on your router or share your VPN-enabled internet connection from your PC by setting up a hotspot.
Kodi is an open-source platform that allows you to watch your favourite media stuff for free. When I reviewed the provider, I learned that users could access their preferred Kodi add-ons while protecting their privacy through IPVanish.
Besides Kodi, IPVanish also provides apps for devices like Fire TV. In addition, IPVanish’s interface is very remote control-friendly and can easily be used on devices without a mouse or keyboard.
For Android devices that don’t have App Store like Kindle or Fire Tablet, users can install IPVanish Android APK files on their devices. So, get IPVanish VPN for Android and get unrestricted access to international content from anywhere in the world.
If you’re experiencing problems with the VPN, consult this IPVanish not working guide for help.
Pricing – How much does IPVanish cost?
Here is a list of all IPVanish’s budget-friendly pricing plans:
IPVanish currently offers two subscription plans. The monthly subscription plan will cost $10.95/month with zero discount, while the annual subscription costs $3.75/month with a 65% discount.
Compared to IPVanish, ExpressVPN is a great option that offers best-in-class VPN services at a slightly higher price and is currently offering 12 months + 3 months free subscription with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Also, IPVanish has extended its money-back guarantee to 30 days, similar to providers like Surfshark, who also offer the same length of the refund period.
Speaking of refunds, its money-back guarantee is more or less advertised as an IPVanish free trial. Of course, it’s not exactly a free trial, but you can claim your refund if you cancel IPVanish within 30 days of purchase.
Currently, IPVanish is delivering some of the most common online payment methods like:
- Credit Cards
- American Express
Without offering Bitcoin or other anonymous payment options, you cannot make your subscribers truly anonymous. That said, I have not lost all my hopes in IPVanish. On the contrary, I expect that they will include Bitcoin in their payment arsenal quite soon.
IPVanish Refund Policy
IPVanish offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, meaning within those 30 days, you can get a full refund. After requesting to cancel the subscription, you will get your money back shortly. If there are problems, you can contact support.
Cancelling the IPVanish subscription is very easy:
Unlike most VPN services, IPVanish offers 2-months subscriptions for free to retain the users. This is a great offer as you will get three months free with IPvanish.
IPVanish Efficient Customer Support
IPVanish has an efficient customer support department. You can try different ways to contact their support team:
These ways are:
- 24/7 live chat support
- 24/7 email support ([email protected])
- The help section on the website
Every time I tried to contact them through live chat, I got the desired response promptly. You can go through the site if you want to read informative articles regarding several topics. Its live chat feature is very efficient, as seen in the IPVanish vs. Private Internet Access comparison, where IPVanish’s customer support team responded within a few minutes.
You may also seek assistance via email support. I emailed them a small query, and they responded within 2 hours. Considering my communication medium was email, the response time is very fast and impressive.
Similarly, you may get the required assistance by visiting its help section. This section allows you to browse through different sub-categories like announcements, billing questions, IPVanish setup guides, FAQs, troubleshooting, and so on.
What Reddit thinks about IPVanish?
Here is what people are saying about IPVanish on Reddit:
One user pointed out that the IPVanish app crashes when using it on Amazon FireStick. Force closing other apps on FireStick device and then start using IPVanish may solve the problem. To learn more, you can check out the working VPNs for Fire TV.
Another user wanted to know if IPVanish has a Kill Switch feature. Yes, it has a Kill Switch feature that automatically shuts down your internet when the VPN connection stops working.

Alternatives of IPVanish
Here are our top 5 alternatives for IPVanish if you do not approve of this VPN service:
IPVanish is a secure VPN that uses powerful encryption and security protocols. It does not keep any user logs, and it also offers VIPRE’s next-generation antivirus for extra security and protection.
If you are still concerned about your security with IPVanish, you can use other VPNs like ExpressVPN that offer more advanced features to protect your online privacy.
No, IPVanish isn’t worth its high price, especially when you consider ExpressVPN, which offers best-in-class and unparalleled VPN service for just a slightly higher cost.
You can also get 12 months plan + 3 months subscription for free with ExpressVPN. Also, ExpressVPN is a better option if you want to watch American streaming platforms like Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and more.
No, IPVanish is not free, and it doesn’t offer a free version. However, it is available for [get_price id=13496 url="https://www.vpnranks.com/visit-provider/ipvanish"] and also comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
So, you can try IPVanish risk-free for 30 days and cancel any time. When you are cancelling, IPVanish also gives you two months subscription for free to try to retain you as a customer.
A single IPVanish subscription account can be connected on unlimited devices simultaneously. Apart from IPVanish, this feature is offered by Surfshark as well.
IPVanish does offer an app for Fire TV Stick, but it doesn’t provide an app for Smart TV or Apple TV. So for those two devices, you will have to set up IPVanish on your router and connect the device directly to the VPN-enabled router.
Do I recommend IPVanish?
Yes, I recommend IPVanish, but I have to mention other VPN services like ExpressVPN that offer better speed and protect your online activities like no other.
However, I still wish to see more servers added to the list—especially a dedicated server for China. IPVanish may cause slow speed when connected to long-distance servers, but it is still best for streaming because it unblocks US Netflix and is the best for torrenting. The price is a bit expensive, but it’s worth buying because of its good security protocols.
IPVanish also offers an internet kill switch for added security and privacy along with an impressive multi-login feature of unlimited devices.
All-in-all, I found IPVanish to be a good VPN to use, but not as good as its alternatives that I have mentioned. Read our exclusive unbiased VPN reviews guide if you don’t like its overall performance and want to try other VPNs.
But considering overall features, pricing, customer support, and trustworthiness, IPVanish is a decent VPN service and thoroughly deserves the 8.5/10 rating.
