personal VPN is a brainchild of US-based security firm WiTopia. If you go through their official site, you would realize that they have categorically mentioned themselves, “Why we’re the best VPN.”
Due to this reason, I was compelled to perform a detailed WiTopia personal VPN review to check the reality of its claim.
This review has examined its various features like jurisdiction, pricing, compatibility, servers, and trustworthiness in detail.
Based on this comprehensive examination, I don’t recommend this US-based VPN service. This is because the service has to improve on other fronts like server networks, Netflix streaming, and torrenting support.

Do I Recommend Witopia personal VPN?
No, I don’t recommend this US-based service. I hope you would have liked my WiTopia personal VPN review. During this review, I discovered that the provider supports GDPR guidelines in the right way.
Moreover, it provides several tunneling protocols coupled with 256-bit military-grade encryption. The service is working in the online privacy industry since 2005.
It has a server network that includes 300+ servers available in 40+ countries. The provider has branded itself as a safe and simple VPN service.
On the contrary, it does not help users in unblocking US Netflix. Moreover, the service does not support anonymous payment options like Bitcoin and others.
Above all, they are placed in the US which hampers their other salient features like cheap pricing and transparency stance to a certain extent.
Similarly, the service has not gone well with other aspects like Netflix streaming and torrenting as well.
Based on the above analysis, I would give WiTopia personal VPN a 3.0/5.0 rating overall.

I’ve used witopia for a few years.
It is possible to connect to them from China, but only some locations and some protocols. Their HK server is usually fastest but often blocked. Seoul, Tokyo, or Hanoi are the best in order of connectivity and speed.
It is NOT true that they have apps for all platforms. There’s no app for ios for example. One needs to configure manually the VPN connections in the ios system preferences app. It’s ok for people who know, but makes the service not a good recommendation for people who aren’t tech savy.
Also, their MacOS app is quite bad.
It was bad before macos Mojave, without a kill switch for example, and their newer “beta” is even worse, buggy, and terrible UX.
On top of that, their “localisation” has terrible translation (often semantically and gramatically incorrect); which they refused to fix after I reported the issue to them, claiming their 3rd party “translation provider” knew better.
That said, I still “recommend” it for people going to China, if you just need to access google, wikipedia, etc (I don’t care about Netflix).
It does work for torrenting, also.
