Want to know if PureVPN's fast? Can you stream, game and torrent with it? Check out this article where I conduct an in-depth PureVPN Speed Test on 9 different servers worldwide. Results may shock you.

PureVPN is an extremely popular VPN service. It offers 6,500+ servers in 180+ locations and it claims to be the fastest VPN service in the industry, but is it true?

Well, after performing an extensive PureVPN speed test for 2020, I can definitely say that PureVPN is in-fact fast, however, you many experience inconsistency across different servers.

But on the bright side, PureVPN is the only VPN I tested in a really long time that can establish a secure connection in the first attempt. You don’t need to wait too long or try different servers to get connected to the internet. That’s something I really like.

In order to give a clear idea of what to expect from PureVPN in terms of speed, I tested PureVPN’s speeds using nine (9) different global server locations.

If you’re in a hurry and don’t want to stick around throughout the entire article, here’s a brief table with all the speed test results compiled for your convenience.

In-depth PureVPN Speed Test for 2020

In order to give you an idea of how PureVPN would perform across different servers, I tested nine (9) different server locations of PureVPN with my 100 Mbps internet connection. Here’s how my testing went.

1. Australia

As usual, I first connected to the Perth – Australia server location. Once I got connected, which by the way only to a couple of seconds, I managed to get a download speed of 76.75 Mbps, an upload speed of 86.84, and a ping of 131 ms.

2. Canada

With the Toronto – Canada server, my download speed dropped a bit, however, not too significantly. Once I ran the test, PureVPN managed to output 54.75 Mbps download speed, 97.09 upload speed, and 235 ms pings.

3. Netherlands

With the Amsterdam – Netherlands server, things got even better. When I ran the test, PureVPN managed to output 90.84 Mbps download speed. That just blew me away. As for upload speed, it managed to peak at 78.84 Mbps. Oh! and my ping maxed out at 128 ms.

4. France

The Paris – France server of PureVPN also performed exceptionally well. After getting connected, I managed to get a download speed of 86.75 Mbps and an upload speed of 81.25 Mbps. As for latency, I managed to get a pretty decent ping of 160 ms.

5. Russia

With the Moscow – Russia server, I didn’t expect PureVPN too perform too well considering that VPN usage is kind of banned in Russia. However, to my surprise, PureVPN managed to output a download speed of 81 Mbps, an upload speed of 63.25 Mbps with 163 ms ping.

6. Spain

Okay, this is the only server location where PureVPN struggled badly. Once I ran the test with the Madrid – Spain server, PureVPN only managed to push out a download speed of 9.93 Mbps and an upload speed of 6.20 Mbps with 365 ms ping. That’s not good.

7. UAE

Next, I connected to a Middle Eastern server to see how PureVPN would perform. Once I got connected to the Dubai – United Arab Emirates server, PureVPN managed to deliver a pretty impressive download speed of 78.5 Mbps. However, it only managed to push out 23.17 Mbps upload speed with 446 ms ping.

8. U.K

With the London – United Kingdom server, PureVPN did significantly better. Once I ran the test, I managed to get a PureVPN server speed of 74.59 Mbps download and 80.09 Mbps upload. This time the ping maxed out at just 128 ms.

9. U.S

Last but not least, I also ran a speed test while connected to the Miami – United States server of PureVPN. This time I managed to get a download speed of 51.67 Mbps and an upload speed of 65.42 Mbps with 299 ms pings.

Wrapping up!

After compiling all the results from the PureVPN speed test, I can definitely say that PureVPN is fast, but not the fastest. But one thing only PureVPN and a few other VPN providers can offer is instant connectivity. Being able to connect in the first try made my testing so much more convenient.

If you take a look at the table at the starting of this article, you’ll see that PureVPN only showed sluggish performance on the Spanish server. That was the only time PureVPN speeds dropped. The rest of the server locations offered great speed without a doubt.

If we talk about real-world usability experience, I didn’t notice PureVPN burden down my internet performance at any point during my testing. Browsing, streaming, torrenting, and gaming all went smoothly without a hitch. So, overall, if you want fast speeds at a budget price, definitely check out PureVPN.
