SlickVPN Pricing Plans

Like many other providers in the industry, Slick VPN offers three pricing packages. You can select a monthly package, an annual package or a three-month plan. Each pricing plan offers considerable savings with a yearly plan being the cheapest of the lot.

For our Slick VPN review, we compared the prices with other services. Slick VPN offers competitive pricing as you can enjoy a VPN protection for as low as $4.00 per month with a yearly plan. Other established services offer similar pricing rates and some are even expensive. Likewise, its smaller duration subscription packages are also economical.

Slick VPN offers 30-day money back guarantee on all its packages. We were pleased to see the lengthy money back guarantee period, as it provides sufficient time to test the service. Not many VPN services offer thirty days for a full refund. Therefore, SlickVPN is worth every penny as you get different features and online privacy at affordable rates.

SlickVPN Payment Methods Review

SlickVPN review revealed a pleasing sight as the provider accepts payment through popular methods. Consumers can pay through credit card (American Express, VISA, MasterCard, and Discover), PayPal, or through Bitcoin. Each of these payment methods are available in almost every country and with the addition of Bitcoin, subscribers can subscribe to SlickVPN anonymously.

Slick VPN Server List

The next part of our SlickVPN review focuses on the server count and locations. Slick VPN server list is illustrious as it offers over 125 gateways on 45 different countries. You get server choices in various major locations such as United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and different European regions.

According to SlickVPN, the server list is continuously increasing as the provider is adding more servers from various locations. One of the things noticeable from Slick VPN review is that there no servers in China. Although there are numerous restrictions over the use of VPN in China, but it is one area SlickVPN can look into.

That said, the current SlickVPN server list would allow you to access any geo-restricted website and streaming service. Users can unblock services such as BBC iPlayer, Hulu, Pandora, Spotify, NBC, and much more.

Slick VPN Compatibility

One of the striking features of SlickVPN review is its compatibility. The service works on major operating systems such as Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Ubuntu. Slick VPN is also configurable on different routers. While conducting SlickVPN review, we didn’t come across exclusive apps for mobile platforms. This was a downside, as you would expect tailor made software for Android and iOS devices.

SlickVPN Android

To use Slick VPN on Android, you will have to configure the service manually. The procedure is simple and subscribers have the option between PPTP or OpenVPN protocol on Android device. In addition, we found while conducting Slick VPN review that you can setup the service using OpenVPN app available on Google Play Store. The process is simple and here’s how to use OpenVPN protocol on SlickVPN:

  • Download the ‘.ovpn’ files from SlickVPN website
  • Install OpenVPN app from Google Play Store
  • Now import ovpn config files of SlickVPN onto the OpenVPN app
  • Check any checkmarks shows during the installation process
  • Your SV_mobile.ovpn profile should now be added
  • Tap on the pencil icon to select the server of your choice
  • Enter your SlickVPN login credentials and use the service
  • You can check the logs for successful connection messages

SlickVPN iOS

Just like on Android, you will have to configure Slick VPN on iOS devices manually. SlickVPN supports OpenVPN and IPsec protocol for iOS devices. Alternatively, consumers can download the OpenVPN app from iTunes and then setup SlickVPN .ovpn files. The process is simple and anyone can configure the service following the tutorials illustrated by SlickVPN.

SlickVPN Software for Windows and Mac

On a positive note, SlickVPN offers a VPN client for Windows and Mac operating systems. The software includes numerous features and you can download the app from Slick VPN’s website for free. From the initial view, the client is well designed. You have all your major options listed on the left side panel and tabs for further details.

Another feature that we admired while conducting SlickVPN review were the server speed tests. When you are about to connect to a server, check the distance of each server from your actual location. This way you can connect to the fastest server of your desired location.

How to Setup SlickVPN

The setup process is simple and we shall demonstrate how to configure the service on Windows PC:

  1. Download SlickVPN client on Windows PC
  2. Launch the setup file (.exe)
  3. Click ‘Next’ when the setup wizard opens
  4. Select ‘I agree the agreement’ when shown the License Agreement and click ‘Next’
  5. Choose the location where you want to install the software
  6. Select the name of the shortcut for Start Menu
  7. Check the checkbox if you want to create a desktop icon and select ‘Next’
  8. Click ‘Install’
  9. Once the software is installed, launch the application
  10. Enter your login credentials and hit ‘Connect’
  11. SlickVPN will automatically connect you to the nearest server
  12. You will see the icon on the top right corner turn green upon successful connection

Slick VPN Protocols and Encryption

While conducting Slick VPN review, we uncovered that it offers three protocols to choose from for different platforms. These include PPTP, IPsec, and OpenVPN protocol. Each protocol differs in terms of security and the encryption level attached with it. With PPTP, you get MPEE 128 bit encryption. It isn’t the most secure protocol out there and seen obsolete by most operating systems. However, PPTP allows fast connectivity because of basic encryption algorithms.

IPsec is far better at securing your device than PPTP. It utilizes 128-bit encryption algorithms and offers strong security for your device. IPsec works well on iOS and Mac OS X platforms.

OpenVPN is the fastest and most secure protocol you can use with SlickVPN. It uses AES 256-bit CBC cipher and uses both UDP and TCP connections. SlickVPN OpenVPN will protect your data against most dangerous cyber threats. Since it does not offer exclusive apps on mobile devices, using OpenVPN FOSS software helps to setup the service and guarantees strong security for your device.

Slick VPN Review of Customer Support

One of the essential features of Slick VPN review is the level of customer support the provider offers. Slick VPN caters customer queries through two different methods. The first method is through tutorials and solution to common issues. The second method is through email ticketing system.

Sadly, there is no live chat feature to handle customer queries in real time. Therefore, you will have to resort to the following two options:

Tutorials

The tutorials are detailed and provide step-by-step guides to get new users up and running. They will help you configure the service on your preferred device. However, the troubleshooting queries should be more in-depth and cover various aspects.

The list covers basic problems and provides quick solutions. But, for SlickVPN to rise above other established providers, it should look into expanding its Common Issues section for each operating system.

Email System

You can also get your queries resolved through their email ticketing system. To access SlickVPN email system navigate to the ‘Contact Us’ section. Fill out the details on the online form, enter the details of your query, and hit submit. The provider mentions that it will respond within one business day.

We tested the email system for SlickVPN review by inquiring about the encryption cipher used in PPTP protocol. The response was quick as after few hours, we received a reply. Slick VPN review passed this test with excellence and if you run into a problem that cannot be answered using their tutorials, then we recommend contacting them through the email ticketing system.

Privacy Policy

The privacy policy of SlickVPN is clearly written and all the information is well presented under specific headings. We have not come across such service that neatly lays out all the content under its privacy policy.

One of the impressive features we found in our SlickVPN review was that the service doesn’t keep any kinds of activity logs. It explicitly states that it does not track the browsing activities of users nor does it record activities outside of SlickVPN connectivity. This is excellent from your privacy point of view.

Final Verdict

Our final thoughts after finishing SlickVPN review is that it is an affordable service that offers strong security and reliable performance. You can easily use the service on Windows and Mac using its software. However, the lack of exclusive apps on Android and iOScould hurt Slick VPN in the long run.

Nonetheless, Slick VPN is a handy tool for all privacy conscious users. Its global server spread provides accessibility to numerous blocked websites. So users can enjoy unlimited shows and movies by unlocking various streaming services. Likewise, it’s no logging policy and strong encryption levels make it a great privacy tool. Therefore, SlickVPN performs all the tasks you would expect from a VPN service.

I had been SlickVPN on window 7 for a long time. Their service is decent; server’s locations are fantastic, and overall performance is good. But, recently I have come up with this issue when trying to run SlickVPN on Windows 10 system. Despite following their detailed tutorials, I am unable to use their VPN on Windows 8. I also requested for a refund, but have not received from their team yet. Is there a way through which I can use it on windows 8?
