ZoogVPN Review 2020
ZoogVPN does have capabilities to unblock websites in China, but it doesn't happen to unblock US Netflix nor does it offer decent speed. It costs $1.25/mo.
ZoogVPN is a VPN service based in Greece. It was founded in May 2013 by IT specialists.
The good about this VPN is its ability to unblock Chinese websites. However, its inability to unblock US Netflix and average speed is why I don’t recommend this VPN service.
This ZoogVPN review provides us insight on the ZoogVPN performance itself and highlights if this VPN is worth your money.

Security – Is ZoogVPN safe?
Yes, ZoogVPN is safe to use because it offers good 2048-bit encryption that keeps your internet traffic encrypted in a private tunnel.
This VPN tunnels users’ data through OpenVPN, L2TP/IPsec, IKEv2, and PPTP VPN protocols for keeping hackers, government ISPs and data snoopers at bay.
It allows you maximum privacy with AES-256 encryption and it is one of those service providers which offers Socks5 proxy for the safety of your devices.
Jurisdiction – Where is ZoogVPN located?
ZoogVPN is based in Greece which does not fall under 5 eyes, 9 eyes, or even 14 eyes country for that matter.
It is a safe jurisdiction even though it is based in Europe where government surveillance is a norm.
From Australia to America, it has servers spread the world except for Antarctica. ZoogVPN offers 48 VPN servers in 27 countries unconditionally and Rest assured, they can unblock ANYTHING which they want.
Speed – How fast is ZoogVPN?
The server speed of ZoogVPN is just average. I connected to one of its fastest servers by what they claim and unluckily I saw a downward spike.
I connected to one of its US servers. Before I did, my internet speed without ZoogVPN was 33 Mbps. When I connected to ZoogVPN, the speed went down to 13.67 Mbps.
Here are the test results:
Streaming – Does ZoogVPN work with Netflix?
ZoogVPN doesn’t work with Netflix because it doesn’t have a lot of US servers to unblock Netflix restrictions.
I connected to their all US server locations but with no success.
Does ZoogVPN support torrenting?
Yes, indeed, ZoogVPN offers torrenting but it depends totally on the server you’re using meanwhile. That’s why it offers safe torrents downloads on dedicated ‘P2P’ servers. Take a look at the image mentioned below:
It instructs users to select those servers with a small ‘P2P’ icon next to their name if you want to use Torrenting.
Leaks – Does ZoogVPN leak IP, DNS & WebRTC?
ZoogVPN doesn’t keep logs. I found it when I was testing for its IP and DNS leak.
I connected to its US server. Here are the test results:
Trustworthiness – Logs and Customer Support
Due to the nature of the service, this provider collects email addresses just for account management purposes.
They are neither given away, sold nor traded to any 3rd party at all. It adheres to ‘Zero logs’ policy to assure 100% privacy and security of all online activities of the users.
Unlike other VPN providers, ZoogVPN makes standard efforts in order to safeguard the confidentiality of personally identifiable information.
ZoogVPN provides ‘Live Chat’ support functionality that allows you to solve your queries timely.
Furthermore, you can use a ticketing system to communicate with their support department. Click on ‘Contact ZoogVPN support’ and then submit your ticket.
It will ask you to type name, email address, type of device and VPN as well as the type of support along with the priority of the question. Check image provided below, it’s of a ticket which is the only source of reaching out to customer support staff:
Compatibility – Apps and Supported Devices
ZoogVPN is available for all major operating systems including Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS, Fire TV, and Android TV.
ZoogVPN is compatible with different devices. Since it provides user-friendly and easy-to-use proprietary apps-it can be a good alternative to consider.
Connect to the VPN locations worldwide with ZoogVPN for Mac. This Mac VPN client is equipped with first-rate features to assure full-fledged freedom, complete security, and privacy.

Do I Recommend ZoogVPN?
No, I do not recommend ZoogVPN. Overall, in our ZoogVPN review, we much contend with the service. It contains optimized servers that ease up access from China, UAE, and other heavily censored countries.
It is very serious about privacy and it won’t be incorrect to call it ‘No logs VPN’.
But since it doesn’t stream US Netflix nor does it offers good speed, I believe it is not a good VPN to use.
