In this ZoogVPN review, I explore a VPN service gaining attention for its affordability. With plans costing less than $2 monthly on a two-year plan and a free version available, it caters to budget-conscious users. In my review, its fast speeds support gaming and torrenting, but its small server network, limited streaming capabilities, and a faulty kill switch on macOS highlight its limitations.
Despite these limitations, after conducting my VPN reviews on multiple factors, ZoogVPN remains a secure option among free VPNs due to its no-logs policy and user-friendly interface. It offers reliable privacy for casual browsing and is easy to navigate, making it suitable for beginners. However, its lack of advanced features might not satisfy experienced users, who may prefer more robust alternatives.
🔒 For a secure free option, try ExpressVPN’s free trial, offering a strong kill switch, split tunnelling, and a vast server network.
Pros
- Offers a free plan
- Unblocks Netflix
- Maintains a strict no-logging policy
- Allows unlimited device connections
- Includes a functional kill switch
- Has servers in VPN-friendly locations
Cons
- No split tunnelling feature
- It does not offer obfuscated servers
- Limited server availability
- Sometimes has connection issues with servers
Editor’s Verdict After Extensive ZoogVPN Review
Zoog VPN delivers decent speeds and a simple user experience, making it a reasonable option for light internet use. However, my findings after a decent ZoogVPN review and Reddit users’ feedback highlight concerns about its limited access to popular streaming platforms and a small server network, significantly diminishing its versatility for broader use.
While it provides baseline privacy and a no-logs policy, advanced security features and customization options are notably missing. Users requiring higher reliability and a wider range of capabilities would benefit more from exploring alternatives like ExpressVPN.

Security – Is ZoogVPN Safe To Use in USA?
Yes, ZoogVPN is safe to use. The paid plans utilize industry-standard AES-256 encryption, while the free plan uses AES-128, which is highly secure and widely trusted across VPN services. ZoogVPN supports several encryption protocols, including OpenVPN and IKEv2, which are secure and commonly used.
However, it also supports less secure protocols like L2TP, which requires IPsec to be somewhat safe, and PPTP, which is outdated and easily cracked. Surprisingly, ZoogVPN hasn’t phased out these less secure options.
Does ZoogVPN support WireGuard Protocol?
ZoogVPN does not support the newer WireGuard protocol, which is known for its speed and security, which is a notable absence. However, all ZoogVPN apps have DNS leak protection, and my tests confirmed no IP or DNS leaks. Additionally, ZoogVPN offers a functional kill switch on its Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS apps.
ZoogVPN has never been involved in any data breach controversies, further supporting its credibility. It is considered one of the safest free VPNs and provides good speeds and a robust no-logging policy.
While ZoogVPN provides basic and effective security, experienced users seeking more advanced options might find better alternatives elsewhere. Overall, ZoogVPN offers reliable protection for everyday users.
Jurisdiction – Where is ZoogVPN Located?
When considering a ZoogVPN review in USA, it’s worth noting that ZoogVPN is headquartered in Greece, part of the European Union. This benefits users concerned about privacy, as Greece is not a member of the Five Eyes, Nine Eyes, or Fourteen Eyes intelligence-sharing alliances. This means ZoogVPN is not subject to the extensive surveillance obligations that come with these alliances.
Being in the EU, ZoogVPN must comply with the EU’s stringent privacy regulations, known for their strong data protection standards. This provides an added layer of security for user data. However, the company’s adherence to a strict no-logs policy truly ensures user privacy.
Servers:

Now, you can connect to 1000s of IPs globally.

P2P Servers:
ZoogVPN provides peer-to-peer (P2P) servers specifically designed and optimized for torrenting. These servers are available in 16 countries, including the U.S., Canada, and various countries across Europe and Asia-Pacific. They enhance the torrenting experience by offering optimized and secure connections.
Free Server Locations:
For its free plan, ZoogVPN offers server locations in five countries: the U.K., the U.S., the Netherlands, Poland, and Singapore. This limited selection means that free users have fewer IP addresses. On its free plan, Windscribe provides 10 country locations, while ProtonVPN offers just three.
ZoogVPN is a good VPN, but not great. However, it could improve by expanding its server network, especially in Africa and South America. If you need a VPN with more server options and wider coverage, consider alternatives like ExpressVPN, NordVPN, and Private Internet Access.

Hello,
What’s up with this review?
ZoogVPN offers access to multi-region Netflix, not just USA. Did you use a free plan to test Netflix? Are you serious? You should know better you need to use premium VPN plan to test it and you should be aware that they mark streaming servers with ‘play’ icon to indicate which ones work with Netflix among other streaming services.
It works perfectly with US Netflix and the speeds are pretty much excellent.
Hello John, since US Netflix has a huge library, so we test only for that. I know it has specific Netflix servers but to be on the safe side I tested all of its US servers and it didn’t unblock American Netflix. The speed were just average for the servers I connected. Its highly possible that its speed when connected to other servers are quite good. I just took the sample server and its speed was slow.
Not true, been using their service to watch US Netflix on their US streaming servers for years now without any issues.
