In a significant expansion of its streaming offerings, ITV has partnered with AMC Networks to introduce over 1,100 hours of new programming on its streaming platform, ITVX, starting next month. This move marks a strategic shift from previous partnerships, notably diverging from deals that required a premium subscription.

The new content, which includes a mix of celebrated dramas, comedies, and reality shows, will be available under two main categories: AMC Stories and AMC Reality. AMC Stories will feature critically acclaimed series like ‘Brockmire,’ ‘The Son,’ and ‘Portlandia,’ while AMC Reality, set to launch in May, will offer reality TV enthusiasts a plethora of options including ‘Love After Lock Up’ and ‘Million Dollar Matchmaker.’

Unlike the deal made with StudioCanal in February 2023, which limited access to over 400 films to premium subscribers, the AMC shows will be available to all ITVX users at no additional cost, although ad-supported. Despite being a geo-blocked platform, viewers can simply access ITVX outside UK using a few hacks.

Sasha Breslau, Head of Content Acquisitions at ITV, expressed enthusiasm about the new addition:

This announcement comes on the heels of ITVX reporting its most successful month, with record-breaking streaming figures driven by popular shows and live sports events. The platform is now set to double its premium subscriber target by 2026 while continuing to enhance viewer experience with new features and broader accessibility.

With this expansion, ITVX aims to solidify its position in the competitive streaming market, offering a rich mix of free and premium content to its growing viewer base.
