SecurityKISS is a free VPN based in Ireland and has an affordable plan even for its premium version.
The security encryption offered by this VPN service is average in Japan, and so is its server speed.
It only has servers in 8 countries and doesn’t work with Netflix either in Japan.
I would otherwise recommend ExpressVPN as a better option for affordable prices and high-quality features. You can also check more best VPNs tested and recommended.
Let us discuss this VPN more in our SecurityKISS review in Japan.

Below you will find a list of factors that I have used for the SecurityKiss Review in Japan:
- Pricing – How much does SecurityKiss VPN cost in Japan?
- Security – Encryption & features
- Jurisdiction – Is it located in a 5-eyes country?
- Speed – How fast is SecurityKiss VPN in Japan?
- Streaming – Does it work with Netflix in Japan?
- Leaks – Does it leak IP, DNS & WebRTC in Japan?

- Compatibility – Apps and supported devices in Japan
Pricing in Japan
SecurityKISS is a free VPN, but it also offers affordable plans for the premium version in Japan. It brings you 5 different plans. Each plan consists of 1 month and 1-year plan, excluding the free plan.
Here are the plans discussed in the SecurityKISS review in Japan:
I want to give the provider the credit where it is due. There are hardly a few good VPN services in Japan that offer diversity in their packages and pricing plans.
Each plan consists of various features, including different server counts and data limits.
Payment Options
Here is a list of payment methods offered in Japan:
- VISA
- MasterCard
- American Express
- PayPal
- Wire Transfer
- Web Money
Refund Policy
SecurityKISS doesn’t have a money-back guarantee per se in Japan. But it refunds the remaining amount of the subscription whenever the customer cancels their account.
It says:
“You can quit your SecurityKISS membership at any time in Japan. Any remaining balance will be calculated proportionally and refunded to your account.”
Make sure to read the ToS before using this VPN in Japan.
Security –Encryption & features in Japan
SecurityKISS offers 1024-bit encryption, which is not industry-standard but still is good encryption to use. It also uses a 128-bit Blowfish algorithm for session encryption in Japan.
It is using OpenVPN and L2TP protocols, whereas, the PPTP protocol was discontinued.
OpenVPN is a proficient tool that can withstand powerful hacking attempts.
L2TP/IPsec is not bad either. In fact, some people prefer it on cell phones as it drains less battery in Japan.
Jurisdiction – Is it located in a 5-eyes country?
The company is based in Ireland. It is not part of 5 eyes, 9 eyes, or 14 eyes in Japan which makes it safe to use in Japan.
If it were a part of these countries, it would have to hand over users’ information to authorities if they come to bring subpoenas or court orders.
Servers
It has servers in only 8 countries, including the UK, US, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada, Poland, and Sweden.
It doesn’t cover many countries like ExpressVPN but still manages to offer servers in 8 countries.
Speed – How fast is the VPN in Japan?
SecurityKISS has the average speed of its servers. This means streaming on this VPN will be a bit hectic and full of buffering in Japan.
I tested its speed using a German server. My speed before I connected to this server: 34 Mbps. My speed after connecting to the German server: 14.67 Mbps
Streaming – Does it work with Netflix in Japan?
I found in our SecurityKISS review in Japan that it does not work with Netflix. It has a few servers available in the US, so the answer was pretty clear. In fact, SecurityKISS in Japan doesn’t boast that it unblocks Netflix or any other streaming websites, so it was pretty straightforward.
Torrenting
According to our SecurityKISS review, it works well with P2P torrenting but with only OpenVPN protocol. Only select VPNs like SecurityKISS that allow torrenting. Just make an Emerald package if you are a torrent addict.
Also, you can accomplish your media cravings through other streaming media players as well. You can subscribe to a Kodi box VPN in Japan to watch your desired media content on your own terms.
Leaks – Does it leak IP, DNS WebRTC?
SecurityKISS does not leak any IP, DNS, or WebRTC. To test for any leaks, I will be using its German server.
Here are the test results:
IP Test
DNS Test
WebRTC Test
Virus Test
I also checked for any viruses by scanning its Windows client. I did not find any viruses that could be of any threat to my online privacy in Japan.
Here is the scan result:
Trustworthiness – Logs and customer support in Japan
SecurityKISS does keep connection logs, but it doesn’t store any usage logs in Japan.
SecurityKISS in Japan is extremely forthcoming about its logging policy. It is explained something like this.
Keeping connection logs mean they monitor how much time you spent with the VPN in Japan.
They also keep your IP address, but the session data is deleted within 10 days.
Considering all this, data logging shouldn’t be an issue with SecurityKISS in Japan.
Customer Support
SecurityKISS customer support is not so good in Japan. It doesn’t have live chat support; the only way you can contact them is through Email and Tickets.
You can look for customer support by using FAQs and a Troubleshooting guide.
Compatibility – Apps and supported devices in Japan
SecurityKISS is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, DD-WRT in Japan, and Tomato routers.
There is a lack of dedicated apps for iOS devices. They have developed a setup tutorials page for all devices.
Windows
Windows client for SecurityKISS offers a simple and sleek design but compromises not even a bit when it comes to performance in Japan.
A 2.58 MB installation file requires no formal registration. The Windows client also comes with a plain layout compromising a stats section and connect/disconnect button.
You can click the CPU on the bottom right or hit options to change the server. In the server window, you can also switch between different protocols in Japan.
In the options, you can also enable Exclusive tunneling. It is a feature that prevents any potential data leaks.
Overall, the SecurityKISS Windows is user-friendly and extremely efficient in Japan.
Android
The Android app for SecurityKISS in Japan is equipped with an appealing design that has similar features to the Windows client. The in-house Android client is available to download on Google Playstore in Japan.
Android client of SecurityKISS offers both OpenVPN and L2TP/IPSec encryption, thus ensuring reliable protection to netizens for torrenting and P2P file sharing. That said, I consider their android app a must-try VPN in the SecurityKISS review in Japan.
iOS
This app is downloaded on iOS with two methods: GuizmOVPN and L2TP. Although GuizOVPN is not a bad option, I would recommend L2TP as it is a bit light on your device in Japan.
Not just that, L2TP is perfectly capable of protecting your phone on public Wifis.

Conclusion
According to our SecurityKISS review in Japan we do not recommend using it. SecurityKISS has decent encryption and doesn’t keep usage logs, but it still lacks great when streaming.
Its servers have an average speed which is very disappointing, but the server count is also too low. It currently has servers in 8 countries. When it comes to unblocking Netflix, it won’t.
All in all, it is not a good VPN for streaming in Japan purposes.
