We’re just five days away from the Asia Cup 2023 and 41 days to the World Cup. With only 18 days in between, Team India must finalize their 15-man squad and the playing 11.

The squad you’ll see as you enjoy Asia Cup Live streaming in New Zealand will resemble the team advancing to the World Cup. Thus, India’s performance at the World Cup will be significantly impacted by how well they do at the Asia Cup.

India has won seven Asia Cup titles, making it one of the most prosperous nations ever. Because of this, it was quite a shock when they failed to reach the final of last year’s competition despite having a star-studded team.

However, India’s team composition for this year’s Asia Cup seems more balanced after the return of Jasprit Bumrah and the addition of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer.

Former India all-rounder Madan Lal believes Rohit Sharma and his team will win the Asia Cup, but he needs more assurance regarding the World Cup.

According to Lal, the World Cup is a different ballgame, where teams like Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa will pose a substantial challenge. He also noted that it won’t be easy despite the home advantage and the team’s ability to perform under pressure.

Lal also spoke on the return of Rahul and Shreyas. While Shreyas has fully recovered, Rahul recently got a minor injury and will miss the first two games, including when you watch India vs Pakistan in New Zealand.

Lal emphasized that his main concern is Rahul and Shreya’s fitness levels, noting a couple of games would have boosted their confidence as they regained full fitness.
