VPN Monster Review 2019
VPN Monster is a Seychelles based service available at cost effective $1.92/ mo price. The service has 114 servers in 38 countries that do not allow torrenting and Netflix. The provider has earned 2.5 stars rating overall.
Conversely, the provider does have a free plan that you can use for one month but its Windows app is quite risky to use due to its harmful nature.
Above all, the app is only accessible in Russian language that is not an easy task for internet users by any means.
Therefore, I do not recommend this relatively unknown VPN service to privacy conscious netizens across the world.

My Rating Criteria
I have tested the VPN according to my own created 8 steps criteria that includes:
- Pricing – What is the cost of VPN Monster?
- Security – Protocols & Encryption
- Jurisdiction – Where is VPN Monster located?
- Speed – Is This VPN Fast?
- Streaming – Does it Support Netflix & Torrenting?
- Leaks – IP, DNS, WebRTC & Virus Tests
- Trustworthiness – Logging Policy & Customer Support
- Compatibility – Supports all the Leading Platforms
Pricing – What is the cost of VPN Monster?
VPN Monster follows affordable pricing tactic overall. The service provides three types of pricing plans that include:
Surprisingly the free service is only limited up to 30 days. You will experience slow speed and a limited number of servers. On payment fronts, you can try out different options like Bitcoin, PayPal, WebMoney and others.
It only has a 7-days money-back guarantee which I believe is a little less than what industry leaders are offering.

Security – Protocols & Encryption
VPN Monster has an OpenVPN protocol that uses 256-bit AES military-government encryption algorithm.
This is the strongest encryption you will ever find in a VPN that will keep your online activity safe when it goes through a tunnel.
It also offers a double VPN encryption that allows you to connect to two different servers before you get connected to your destination server.
Jurisdiction – Where is VPN Monster located?
VPN Monster is headquartered in Seychelles, but is targeted to Russian users.
It is an offshore country that has no data retention laws, meaning their authorities won’t be snooping on your data.
If you’re looking to get a VPN provider with a safe haven, look for it in our guide 5/9/14 eyes countries.
VPN Monster offers a total of 114 servers and has availability in 38 countries.
Needless to say, it is extraordinary for a free service to offer such a large number of servers. It doesn’t offer server in China that also has strict online restrictions as Russia.
Speed – Is this VPN fast?
VPN Monster does not deliver eye-catching connection speeds.
When I connected to its Italian server, I received below average Mbps download speeed while using 25 Mbps internet connection:
You can observe a downward spike of 53% in speed from the above snapshot.
Streaming – Does it unblock Netflix & Torrenting?
It does NOT unblock American library from outside of America which is a bit of concern.
Unfortunately, it is unable to unblock iPlayer as well, which is not a pleasant scene at all.
Moreover, the service is not conducive for torrenting because it does not allow P2P activities of internet users.
Leaks – IP, DNS, WebRTC & Virus Tests
VPN Monster is not secure as its Windows app is dangerous to use but it wont reveal your original whereabouts be it IP address, DNS and WebRTC data. Here are the screenshots:
I tested its Windows apps through VirusTotal.com and surprisingly found one malicious malware in the app:
Trustworthiness – Logging Policy & Customer Support
Luckily, VPN Monster do not keep logs in any way whatsoever.
On the other hand, Seychelles does not force any company to store data users’ data because this is the country with no data retention laws.
But despite this fact, some companies do store users’ data to sell it to third parties.
But this isn’t the case with VPN Monster.
We do not keep logs of activity of our users. We are outside the jurisdiction of the law.
They are not liable to share user data even if they are asked by other countries, which is why I could say this VPN is safe.
There’s NO live chat support, email support, or even ticketing system.
Instead, it only has a troubleshooting section which is not much either.
If any customer tend to look towards asking questions regarding customer support, then they would face nothing but disappointment.
Compatibility – Supports all the Leading Platforms
The VPN is available for Windows, Android, MacOS, and iOS only.
You will have to setup iOS app manually since it doesn’t have it available on iTunes which is a bit of a downside.
You won’t be able to download on your Linux, Routers, and other operating system and device.
You can connect up to 6 devices at a time with a single VPN Monster account which is more than enough. To my surprise, the app is available in Russian language, which is a bit of a downside.

Do I Recommend VPN Monster?
No, I would not recommend my readers to get VPN Monster and I would explain to your why.
The first and foremost reason is its harmful Windows app that contains a malware. Moreover, the app is provided in Russian language that is a big ask for newbies to understand.
Moreover, it does not work with Netflix and does not allow torrenting tasks.
Thus, I have given the service 2.5/5.0 stars rating overall.
