SuperVPN is a US-based VPN service available at costly $8.00/mo price. It also provides a free version that you can use for 30 days. The service offers 470+ servers in 48 countries that don't support Netflix. The service has earned 2.5 stars rating overall.

SuperVPN, a US-based VPN provider offering its services through 470+ servers in 48 countries across the world.

However, this SuperVPN review indicates that it offers expensive pricing plans unlike PureVPN or Surfshark. Luckily, you can use its free version as well for a month without spending a single penny.

Moreover, it belongs to 5 eyes countries that create a big question mark on users’ privacy. It does not unblock US Netflix and supports torrenting partially.

Therefore, I don’t recommend the VPN because the service has a long way to become one of the most transparent services in the industry.

If you want to know about VPNs other than Super VPN, read this VPN reviews guide.

My Rating Criteria

Let’s have a look at the rating criteria on the basis of which I have performed this review:

Pricing – How much is SuperVPN?

In terms of pricing, SuperVPN has offered extremely expensive pricing plans.

At present, the service provides six (6) different types of pricing plans including free VPN to its users. These are:

Its cheaper plan starts from $8.00 and the most costly plan is available at the whopping price of $30.00.

Super VPN offers just a 15 days money-back guarantee, providing subscribers with hands-on experience of the service.  Above all, not all of their plans offer multi-login benefits.

You can protect your five (5) different devices with BlackBerry, Torrent, and Offshore plans.

It currently offers a handful of payment modes including PayPal, Wire Transfer and Check.

Security – Protocols & Encryption

As far as their protocols and encryption go, they don’t offer proper information about tunneling protocols and encryption level.

Still, the website indicates that they only provide 2096-bit encryption if you use its PPTP plan. Similarly, they deliver SSL protocol in case you subscribe to their SSL plan.

Jurisdiction – Is SuperVPN Safe?

No, SuperVPN is unsafe because it mainly hails from the US, which is a founding member of 5 Eye countries directly.

The country has its own data retention rules and the service has to abide by them in the right direction.

Server Locations

Super VPN offers 474+ servers dotted across 48+ major countries in the world.

Servers are brilliantly distributed in the United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Ireland, Italy, Austria, Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, Canada, Panama, Hong Kong, UAE, New Zealand, and more countries.

Speed – Is SuperVPN Fast?

On speed front, SuperVPN offers poor connection speeds to its users. I connected to their US servers using my 15 Mbps internet connection and received only 1.91 Mbps download speed in return.

It means my speed decreased more than 90% eventually. Here is the screenshot you can see:

Streaming – Does it work with Netflix?

Unfortunately, you cannot use Super VPN to unblock one of the most famous US media streaming services. You will have to use another VPN to achieve your streaming mission.

Surprisingly, the service is not much ideal for torrenting purpose. You can only use Torrent Plan to download torrents securely.

Leaks – IP, DNS, WebRTC & Virus Tests

While conducting Super VPN review, I found it is a leak-proof service that doesn’t leak your IP addresses or DNS data online. Here are the screenshots:

Virus Test

Upon testing its setup file, I was happy to know that it did not have any virus:

Trustworthiness – Logging Policy & Customer Support

SuperVPN does not have a complete no-logging policy. They have to record some basic user information that includes:

  • Access attempts
  • Session duration
  • Bandwidth used

It retains specified information for up to five days for service delivery and quality assurance purposes.

That said, the service has to fulfill US mandatory data retention laws and this is the most worrying aspect of their logging policy.

Customer Support

As far as their support department is concerned, they provide the following options:

  • FAQs
  • Email
  • Live Chat

The support section is informative and provides enough insight to new and existing users.

Compatibility – Apps & Supported Devices

SuperVPN is compatible with all the famous platforms like Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.

It offers a state-of-the-art in-house app for Android and iOS devices. The apps come with sleek and straightforward user interfaces with one-click protection and connectivity.

The Android app is available at Google Play Store and you can install the app instantly on your smartphones hassle-free.

Alternatives to SuperVPN

In case you do not want to use SuperVPN, you can avail other VPNs after reading these below-described reviews:

Do I Recommend SuperVPN?

No, I don’t recommend SuperVPN.

The service does not offer a full-fledged torrenting feature. Moreover, it resides mainly from the US, which is a questionable jurisdiction from users’ privacy point of view.

It is also incompatible with Netflix as well. It does have a huge server network like PureVPN or Surfshark but does not have a kill switch and other privacy benefits.

Based on the above SuperVPN review 2020, I would give the service 2.5/5.0 stars rating overall.
