Venezuela is following the footsteps of those countries where freedom of expression has become a scary thing. After ramping up censorship with TOR ban, the official authorities are trying their level best to curb their citizens’ fundamental right.

Why Should I Get a VPN Venezuela Service?

According to my in-depth research, 58% of the total population uses internet in Venezuela for different reasons. Still, netizens in the country face extreme level of blocking. This is because they are unable to access different services like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Periscope on a continual basis.

If you are still not convinced, here are some of the unknown hassles netizens anticipate in Venezuela:

Severe online restriction

The official authorities may arrest you if you share negative views about the government with others on the internet. During 2016, the government even blocked 43 different sites to check the effectiveness their online filtering practices.

Internet content bans

During the last few years, the Venezuelan government has blocked more than 1330 sites in total. Therefore, you can imagine how much internet users are suffering from geo-restrictions principle in the country.

Cyber attacks

Surprisingly, the official authorities had to taste their own medicine as their own official website was hacked. The question arises here if the government is unable to secure its website, how they can safeguard their citizens’ data from online snoopers.

I assume that I have made my point clear why you should connect to VPN Venezuela service.

Current Scenario on Blocking and Throttling in Venezuela

Sadly, the situation of digital rights in Venezuela is getting worse day by day. The official authorities are taking every single step to make it tough for Venezuelans to access and enjoy internet at its full capacity. They are taking initiatives like bandwidth throttling that allow them to control their citizens’ online activities.

Connectivity Issues in Venezuela

Unfortunately, average broadband connection speeds in Venezuela are considered as the slowest in the region. As a result, internet users are dependent on limited connectivity. Moreover, they are unable to pay for high speeds connections due to prevailing economic crisis. Similarly, CANTV the state owned ISP is unable to enhance its existing level of services because of financial constraints.

Therefore, I do not expect drastic improvements in terms of broadband speeds in near future.

  1. Ignazio says:

Hi Usman, a very useful article for sure. Reviewing Pure VPN’s server list, I can see that their servers in Venezuela are “Virtual”. (Actually, they are virtual in all South American countries). Are there any drawbacks of using Virtual Servers instead of Physical Servers?? By the way, I would use the VPN backwards (to connect to some Venezuelan Banking Websites from Europe – the Gov. has censored internet banking access from outside Venezuela). Thanks for your time & best regards.

    • VPNRanks says:

      Dear Ignazio,
Theoretically speaking, virtual servers deliver lesser quality of performance than physical ones. However, this holds true when you’re making a one-on-one comparison. PureVPN has a good number of physical servers all over the world. As such, with so many bare and metal servers operating, the VMs in the network will have no noticeable difference in performance.

In short, it comes down to the server infrastructure. A good infrastructure will maintain performance irrespective of the nature of any individual server. So, you should be fine using Venezuelan virtual servers for your banking concerns.

      Hope this helps!
