FinchVPN Review in UK: FinchVPN has a free plan along with its premium version having 190 servers in 14 countries. The server count is on the low side and so is its server speed.

It offers 80+ international payment methods which are something to complement, but again it doesn’t work with Netflix in UK and not to mention it has a Riskware virus in its Windows client. It has no live chat support or refund policy. It just makes matter worse for users.

VPN services like ExpressVPN or Surfshark in UK have tons of features offered at such a low price. You can also check more best VPNs recommended, which offer a lot of features.

Still, continue reading my FinchVPN review in UK to find out why it has limited features that are critical to users’ online privacy.

Also, if you’d like to read more VPN Reviews, do that without a second thought.

  3. Jurisdiction – Is it located in a 5-eyes country?
  4. Speed – How fast is FinchVPN?

FinchVPN Review: Pricing – How much does FinchVPN cost in UK?

FinchVPN brings an affordable pricing plan to the table. It offers a freemium VPN service that 3 different pricing plans. Let’s have a look at them:

FinchVPN-Pricing-Plans

While the Pro plan is favorable for light surfers and imposes a data cap of 25GB/month, the Premier plan offers full-fledged benefits including unlimited bandwidth, port forwarding, and PPTP support.

The price is no doubt very affordable, but NordVPN and ExpressVPN offer great features.

They have a strict NO refund policy which is a bit of a let-down.

Payment Methods

It was fascinating to see that FinchVPN has more than 80 international payment methods. You will never have to worry about how to send payments to FinchVPN now in UK.

Here is a glimpse of these international payment methods:

  1. Visa
  2. MasterCard
  3. Amex
  4. PayPal
  5. Bank Transfer and more
  6. Bitcoin

Most Importantly, Finch accepts anonymous payments from bitcoin, ensuring premium anonymity to subscribers. The provider also accepts payments from the following payment modes currently.

FinchVPN Review in UK: Security – Encryption & features

According to FinchVPN Review in UK, It also uses strong encryption i.e. 256-bit which is currently the best-known encryption technology in a VPN that is impossible to decrypt.

FinchVPN currently offers PPTP and OpenVPN protocols, which deliver fast streaming and instant unblocking experience to subscribers.

Jurisdiction – Is it located in a 5-eyes country?

FinchVPN is based in Malaysia, which is a good thing because it does not fall under 5 eyes, 9 eyes, and 14 eyes country.

This is to convey to our readers that if a company falls under 14 eyes intelligence sharing nations, then these companies would be bound by law to share users’ information if demanded by authorities.

Since FinchVPN isn’t bounded by law, you’re safe.

Servers

finchvpn-servers

FinchVPN has 19 servers available in 5 countries. There aren’t many servers as you may know already and it also lacks obfuscated servers too.

Obfuscated servers unblock websites in countries that have strong internet restrictions. Only a few VPNs possess this feature, but unfortunately, FinchVPN doesn’t.

FinchVPN Review in UK: Speed – How fast is FinchVPN?

In FinchVPN Review in UK: It’s server speed is too slow. I found that out when I connected to its Australian server.

My internet speed before I connected FinchVPN was around 31 Mbps. But once I connected to its Australian server, I noticed a decline in speed and it went down to 13.36 Mbps. Not impressive.

Here is the screenshot of the result:

FinchVPN-speed-test

Here you see a decline of 44% in speed.

FinchVPN Review: Streaming – Does it work with Netflix in UK?

When working on FinchVPN Review, we tried to connect to US Netflix from FinchVPN’s US server, but we were not able to unblock the streaming website’s US library. We also tried to connect with different US servers and the results were the same. If you need a VPN for the sole purpose of unblocking Netflix, then you need the best VPN for Netflix in UK.

Torrenting

Not all of FinchVPN’s servers are P2P optimized for torrenting. It reveals that only its Netherland server is P2P optimized.

So, before you start downloading torrents, you should check whether you are connected to its Netherland server and then download it. I give props to the providers for not letting the torrent users down.

However, you may face issues while using FinchVPN with Kodi in UK. Here I have highlighted how to use VPN with Kodi to watch Live TV.

Leaks – Does it leak IP, DNS & WebRTC?

I tested for any IP or DNS leaks including the WebRTC test and found that FinchVPN passed all these tests. I connected FinchVPN to the same Australian server that I tested for speed. Here is the screenshot of the results:

IP Leak:

Virus Test

I found 1 virus that goes by the name ‘Riskware agent’. This is why it is risky to download the Windows client that is provided on their website.

Here is the proof:

Trustworthiness – Logs and customer support

FinchVPN keeps connection logs but doesn’t store your usage logs. Its privacy policy was last updated 3 years ago so nothing has changed.

FinchVPN collects the following information from users:

  • Username
  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Password (encrypted)
  • IP address

An IP address is something very critical to your online privacy and FinchVPN stores that information. However, it makes it very clear what important data it doesn’t collect:

“We do not store details of, or monitor, the websites you connect to when using our VPN service”

Having said that, the internet traffic that is routed from their server is completely anonymous.

Have a look at the VPNs that don’t store logs.

Customer Support of FinchVPN

FinchVPN has decent customer support, but still, there is a lack of a live chat feature.

It currently has Email support, Ticket-based support, a Discussion group, and a Facebook page.

FinchVPN-support

The email support is available 24/7 and the response time is 2-3 hours on average.

Compatibility – Apps and supported devices

FinchVPN has apps available for Windows, Android, macOS, iOS, and Ubuntu which are the major operating systems. With a single FinchVPN account, you can connect with only 1 device at a time.

It lacks dedicated apps for iOS and Mac OS, which is certainly a disappointment.

FinchVPN for Windows in UK

The Windows client of FinchVPN in UK is not as glossy as the apps of some other VPN providers. Instead, it is a throwback to the early days when VPN apps were more text-filled and less pleasing to the eyes.

FinchVPN-Windows-Client

Nevertheless, this app allows you to choose between different tunneling protocols. Now, as someone who likes tweaking around with the software, I found this feature rather exciting.

In addition, it also comes with an option to check the server status. This way, users can observe which server is operational at the time.

With all this, the app has an Anti-DPI feature that protects your connection from Deep Packet Inspection, making you untraceable on the web.

If you are wondering, how to use FinchVPN on a PC, then this really shouldn’t be a problem as the Windows app is simple to use. You just have to choose the protocol, port, and server, and press “connect”. You can leave the protocol and port settings to default if you have no clue what these settings are.

There are, however, some issues with the client. Sometimes it fails to connect and the interface freezes for frustrating lengths of time. Also, the app has no kill switch feature to prevent an IP leak in case the connections drop for any reason.

Despite all this, I enjoyed using the software, but these are errors that definitely need to be addressed by the company.

FinchVPN for Android in UK

With more than 2 billion active users, Android is the most popular mobile operating system in the world. To shield Android users from online threats, Flinch has developed a dedicated App.

But as it seems, this app is a work-in-progress.

FinchVPN-Android

I made several attempts to run this app but unfortunately, it failed in every instance.

The design of the app is somewhat comparable to the windows client and it provides similar options. But none of that matters because the app does not work at all. Anyways, I hope the providers bring some much-needed updates to this app and make it capable of securing Android devices.

Alternatives of FinchVPN

By now, you are well-versed about the strong points and drawbacks of this VPN. In case you still cannot make up your mind, I recommend the following VPNs.

FinchVPN Review in UK: Do I Recommend FinchVPN?

No, I do not recommend FinchVPN in UK.

FinchVPN has a free and premium version, but it doesn’t offer exciting features even for a free VPN. For a starter, it doesn’t unblock Netflix in UK, doesn’t have live chat support, and its servers aren’t fast enough to let you stream buffer-free videos in UK.

I know it’s too much to ask for in a VPN that is absolutely free, but it’s a matter of users’ online privacy and the overall experience of streaming when I performed the FinchVPN review in UK. With that keeping in mind, I wouldn’t recommend FinchVPN at all.
