10. Lilyhammer

On number 10, we have Lilyhammer, a Norwegian series that features Steven Van Zandt, known for his role of Silvio Dante in The Sopranos. SVZ plays the role of a former New York gangster, Frank, who is relocated to Lillehammer, after being placed into the Federal Witness Protection Program (FWPP).

Hemlock Grove makes it to the 9th spot on our list and has received mostly negative reviews by the critiques. Albeit the negative reviews, the series is liked by many of the Netflix fans and has two seasons till date.

Hemlock Grove is an original Netflix TV series and revolves around the story of a small town where rumors and brutal murders have left the people questioning their safety and security. The murders are investigated by Roman Godfrey (Bill Skarsgård) and Peter Rumancek (Landon Liboiron), who themselves, had mysterious pasts.


08. The Killing

This American series is a remake of the all-time hit Danish TV series Forbrydelsen. The American version premiered in 2011 and the series concluded with the final season coming out in 2014.

The Killing features Mireille Enos, known for her role of Karin Lane alongside Brad Pitt in World War Z and Joel Kinnaman, known for his role of Alex Murphy in the Robocop.

The lead actors play the role of homicide detectives and the story revolves around the investigations of various murders. The series has received mostly positive reviews and has a rating of 8.2/10 on iMDb.


07. The Blacklist

On number 7, we have The Blacklist, an American crime TV series that features James Spader aka Alan Shore of The Practice and Boston Legal. He plays the lead role of Raymond Reddington, a former FBI agent, who turns out to be the badass criminal.

‘Red’ surrenders to FBI at his own will and decides to help them catch the high-profile criminals. He asks the officials to make him work alongside a newbie criminal offending profiler Elizabeth Keen played by Megan Boone. The show has received mostly positive reviews and has a rating of 82% on Rotten Tomatoes.


06. Orange is the New Black

This Emmy Award winning series appeared on the TV screens for first time on July 11, 2013. The story is different than a usual comedy-drama series and revolves around Piper Chapman who experiences different things in the prison.

Piper is a bisexual woman who was arrested and sentenced to prison for smuggling drugs money to her former girlfriend, Alex Vause. The series has been well-received by the viewers and got more views than the other original Netflix TV series.


05. Marco Polo

Even though Marco Polo hasn’t been premiered as of yet, it is already at the 5th spot in our list of themost popular Netflix TV shows of 2014. Marco Polo will be available for streaming from 12th Dec, 2014. As the name suggests, the series is based on Marco Polo’s adventures in the courts and lands of Kublai Khan.

Who doesn’t love Sherlock and Dr. Watson? This British crime drama TV series is an epitome of concurrent adaptation of classic novel stories. Sherlock, is widely popular all over the world, and has received very positive responses from the critiques and the fans!

Benedict Cumberbatch plays the role of Sherlock Holmes, while Martin Freeman plays Dr. Watson. The story revolves around these two characters solving mysterious cases together. 03. Breaking Bad

This American crime drama TV series was premiered in 2008 and concluded in 2013. Breaking Bad has won too many awards to list here. Bryan Cranston plays the lead role of Walter White aka Heisenberg and Aaron Paul plays the role of Jesse Pinkman.

The story revolves around Walter White and his family. Walter is a chemistry genius and a school teacher with an average income. He has a kid who has cerebral palsy and wife who works to make their both ends meet. Things go smoothly until Walter finds out he is suffering from cancer and has only a few months to live.

Breaking Bad is an amazing tale of transformation and has a rating of 9.5/100 on iMDb and 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.


02. The Walking Dead

This American TV series is currently on-air and available on Netflix for streaming. The show revolves around Rick Grimes, the deputy sheriff, who wakes up from coma only to find zombie apocalypse on the streets of Atlanta and other states of US. Soon it’s, Rick, who goes on a hunt to look for his missing wife and son.

He meets various groups of survivors and leads them to the places he thinks, would keep them safe from the ‘walkers’. Andrew Lincoln plays the lead role of Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead. No other TV series would have made a better case for the 2nd spot than The Walking Dead.

Are you even surprised? No? Yup, thought so. House of Card simply leads all other TV shows by miles when it comes to binge-watching TV series on Netflix. HOC is an original Netflix TV series that was premiered on February 01, 2013.

HOC features Kevin Spacey, famous for his roles in the Usual Suspects and Se7en. This political drama revolves around Frank Underwood who plans on to gain ultimate superiority in terms of power over others. The story is all about greed, betrayal and the lust of power and the things done to get in a powerful position.
