Cybercrime on the Rise – Are We Aware?
With cybercrime on the rise, we need to be more careful than ever before. In this era of technology, we have many foes at every corner of this digital universe – waiting for the opportune moment to strike.
Hackers, phishers and identity thieves along with other genre of cyber-goons are all set with their wicked plans. There are diverse motives originating the unauthorized assaults. Some assaults are governed by monetary objectives whereas others are carried out just for fun.
By all means, cybercrime on the rise brings us nothing more than chaos. With all that being said, I would like to add one more estimate – we can’t fight cyber-goons and their evolved tactics unless we know what we’re up against.
Most of us don’t even know about basic precautions they must consider before connecting their device to the Internet – like a VPN to ensure our privacy and online security or an anti-virus to save us from Virus, Malware, Trojans and Ransomware etc.
We need someone to guide our way out – someone to show us the light – someone to educate us and help us fight cybercrime and all wicked tricks of cyber-goons. And I think the U.S. Cybercrime Conference 2014 will do just great. Here take a look at The U.S. Cyber Crime Conference 2012:
If we speak of the U.S. Cybercrime Conference’s agenda – generally it represents preliminary measures adopted to enhance awareness of cybercrime trends and introduction of contemporary methods to cope with respective concerns.
However, at the U.S. Cybercrime Conference 2014, this agenda is further classified into different fragments for better enlightenment of the issues we face today and how can they be handled or coped with efficiently. Here are the core themes that would be the center of debate at the U.S. Cybercrime Conference 2014.
- Digital Forensics
- Legal Concerns
- Cyber Investigations
- Information Assurance
- Research and Development
- Malware Analysis
- Attack Attribution
Irrespective of the traditional or contemporary strategies, we can’t win battles without accomplices. And when we talk about cybercrime, we talk about war. The rise of technology has made our lives convenient; but, on the other hand, it has also originated new threats – digitally speaking.
When we talk about threats, we don’t refer to the hackers, phishers and identity thieves that execute their action plans for fun or meager monetary benefits – not always. Cybercrime has a much darker aspect.
Yes, we’re talking about cyber warfare here. Cyber warfare often correspond involvement of political factors and its after-effects represent macro rather than micro level damage. So, when such concerns mount, the needs of accomplices – partners to be specific, originate.
Here are the official partners to the United States Cybercrime Conference 2014:
- American Heroes Radio
- Air Force Association’s CyberPatriot
- Digital Forensics Investigator
- Loudoun Virginia Economic Development
- National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
- National White Collar Crime Center

The United States Cybercrime Conference 2014 will commence on April 27th. The training sessions shall be conducted from April 27th to 28th. Afterwards, the conference and the happenings representing the event would fulfill the core agenda and themes to be discussed and enlightened at the event.
In the end, all I want to say is that events like this are needed more than ever before. We are surrounded by distinct threats in this digital universe and not everyone is tech-savvy. People less likely are aware of such issues, coping with them – I believe is out of the equation for the moment. So, it is good to have a few among us that fight for a cause and stand against the digital mayhem.
