Copa America 2015 Teams

As mentioned above, the Copa America 2015 features twelve countries from the South American regions. Initially Japan and China were also invited but they rejected from participating in the event citing different reasons. In any case, the Copa America 2015 will feature countries only from the South American region.

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Jamaica, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela will be playing the tournament and they are divided in four different pots with three teams each.

Pot 1 features Chile, Argentina and Brazil, Pot 2 features Colombia, Uruguay and Mexico, Pot 3 features Ecuador, Peru and Paraguay and Pot 4 features Venezuela, Bolivia and Jamaica. According to the management of the Copa America 2015, 9 different venues will be used and the matches will be played in 8 different cities of Chile.

Copa America 2015 Schedule

Considering the fact that Copa America 2015 is a short tournament, matches will be played real quickly. The group stages have already started from the 11th of June with Chile (the host nation) overcoming a moderately easier opponent Ecuador in a one-side game that ended with 2-0 at Estadio Nacional, Santiago.

The group stages will end within ten days with the last match to be played between Brazil and Venezuela on the 21st of June at Estadio Monumental David Arellano, Santiago. Following the group stages, the Quarterfinals will commence from the 24th of June and will end on 27th of June. The semifinals will be played on the 29th and 30th of June, with the final to be played on the 04th of July, 2015.
