User Friendly & Uncomplicated

Smart DNS Proxy is for the light internet user. Most people who have never used VPNs before will feel comfortable with using Smart DNS Proxy because of its simple function and uncomplicated nature.

A VPN encrypts and tunnels your data by sending it through a VPN server. Your IP address becomes cloaked with the IP address of the VPN server and this allows you to bypass Geo-IP restrictions and unblock websites.

In comparison to a VPN, a DNS proxy tool does not encrypt or tunnel your data. Your data does not go through a VPN server. Instead, using a DNS proxy connects you to a DNS that is designed to ensure maximum accessibility.

Function of Smart DNS Proxy

DNS stands for Domain Name System, and it is the most fundamental level for Geo-IP blocking. The DNS works like the Yellow Pages of the World Wide Web and there are countless DNS servers out there. Every time you enter in a URL and hit ‘Enter’, your query is sent to the DNS from where you are connected to the server with the IP address that corresponds to your queried URL.

Usually every ISP has its own DNS and it redirects it users to that particular DNS. Geo-IP blocks can be put into place by preventing users with a certain IP address originating from a specific region from proceeding forward. This is when your ISP tells you that a particular website is not available for your region.

Bypassing Government Restrictions with Smart DNS Proxy

ISP level DNS-based Geo-IP blocking is usually put into place by governments and you can unblock it by using Smart DNS Proxy. The best part about using Smart DNS Proxy to do that is that you won’t simply unblock the websites that are blocked in your country but will also let you unblock websites that are blocked in other countries at the same time.

That’s a good article Danish . I personally prefer UnoTelly. It’s similar to Smart DNS Proxy but they offer a DNS server close to physical location and I can achieve better performance.
