PIA VPN’s in-depth speed test for 2020
In order to get a good idea of how Private Internet Access VPN would perform across different servers, I tested PIA VPN’s speeds across nine (9) different server locations with my 100 Mbps internet connection. Here’s how my testing went.
I started off my testing by connecting to the Australian server of PIA VPN. Right from the start, Private Internet Access blew me away with a download speed of 85.5 Mbps and an upload speed of 94.09 Mbps. Pings were also quite reasonable, maxing at 310 ms.
With the Canadian server, my download speeds dropped a bit, however, not too majorly. Once I ran the test, I recorded a download speed of 53.17 Mbps, an upload speed of 95.92 Mbps with 288 ms pings.
3. Hong Kong
Similar to the Canadian server, the Hong Kong server was a bit slow in terms of downloading speed, however, nothing worth complaining about. When I ran the speed test, PIA VPN managed to output 55.59 Mbps download speed and 90.09 Mbps upload speed with 470 ms pings.
Next, I moved on to a Middle Eastern server location to see how PIA VPN would perform. After connecting the Israel server location, I managed to get a download speed of 91.84 Mbps and upload of 93.09 Mbps with 210 ms pings. Not bad at all.
