Thanks for help but still no luck.. I don’t know what it might be maybe router is f***ed.. I think i have checked everything and now i can’t even connect from another laptop where it worked before.. weird. Thinking of buying new router and setting up VPN again.
In my case still doesn’t work even after turning off firewall.. the weird thing is that I can connect from some of the laptops and I can’t from others.. ;/ Any Ideas what it might be?
Dear Pawel,
Thanks for your valuable feedback,
You may reboot and test your VPN service. If the problem persists, you should re-enable the IPsec service.
In order to re-enable the IPsec service, you will have to perform the following process.
Open the Manager of your computer> click Services and Applications-Service-IPsec Policy Agent, open its Properties, choose its Startup type with Automatic, apply it. After this is done, it means your IPsec Service has been reset.
You should restart your computer after following the above procedure.
Cheers!
This still did not fix the problem for me, I’m still getting error 789.

Hey,
I’ve got error 789 while having IPSec and L2TP passthrough blocked on my firewall – so the firewall is another possible reason.
Best Regards,
Marcin
Hey Marcin, thanks for the comment and suggestion. Firewall’s can definitely be another factor that tend to block L2TP/ IPSec passthrough. Good catch!
