PerfectVPN is a lesser-known VPN provider that has been in the market for over 6 years.

It boasts Dynamic and Static IPs and has four distinct pricing plans.

To secure your information from hackers and data thieves, PerfectVPN utilizes PPTP, L2TP and SSTP protocols.

There’s more to this service as you will learn in this PerfectVPN review.

Although PerfectVPN does not yet rank among the best but it fairs well other VPN reviews I have conducted.

It is still worth a look.

Let’s begin.

Cons

 Strong Points of PerfectVPN

PerfectVPN may not will up to its boastful name. However, it does have some highly impressive features.

Free Trial

The free trial of Perfect VPN lets you test out the service for an hour. Through the trial, you can evaluate the VPN’s speed, reliability and overall performance.

Usually, I would prefer the VPN to give at least a week of trial.

Still, you can learn a lot about PerfectVPN through this feature.

Easy to Use

When you subscribe to PerfectVPN, the provider sends you a .pbk file.

PerfectVPN-Phone-Book

Once you click the file, you need to setup a workplace network.

Here, put the Host IP name provided by the VPN in the Internet address and rename the destination as ‘PerfectVPN’.

Now, you need to enter the name and password provided at the time of subscription.

Finally, you just need to reenter the Username/Password and hit connect.

PerfectVPN-Connect

You are now connected to PerfectVPN.

It’s a simple process that doesn’t require much technical expertise.

Good Speed

Every VPN you use will cut down your speed.

The question is by how much.

If a VPN completely kills your connection speed, it is of no use.

After all, thousands of netizens use VPNs for gaming and online streaming.

PerfectVPN offers surprisingly fast connection.

After VPN:

Ignoring the tremendous jump in the ping rate, this performance is extremely impressive.

No DNS or WebRTC Leak

The primary function of a VPN is to hide your IP address from the world.

So when a VPN leaks your IP, it becomes redundant.

IP leaks can occur in different ways. WebRTC and DNS leaks are two of its common forms.

I tested PerfectVPN for both of these leaks through IPleak.net.

PerfectVPN-DNS-and-IP-leak

No leaks were detected during my tests for this Perfect VPN review.

Decent Customer Support

PerfectVPN does not have 24/7 live support. Still, the customer support is above average.

You can open a ticket to receive any support you may require. The reply arrives within a working day as I found out after using the service for this PerfectVPN review.

Meanwhile, the knowledgebase is also stacked up with different guides and troubleshooting solutions.

All this makes up for a good customer experience.

 Areas of Improvement

While writing this review of PerfectVPN, I found some of the areas of the VPN to be disappointing. Here are some things I would like the provider to address.

Tunneling Protocols: No OpenVPN

PerfectVPN packs PPTP, SSTP and L2TP/IPsec protocols.

To start, PPTP is an obsolete technology that has a slew of vulnerabilities.

Meanwhile, SSTP tunnel is much more suited for geo-dodging than it is for online security.

Lastly, L2TP/IPsec combination can protect you against online security threats. But it is heavier on the processer and also slows down your internet.

Ultimately, the best tunneling protocol in existence is OpenVPN. It is an open-source technology, making it far more advance than the alternatives.

And not to forget, it provides a good balance of speed and security.

Keeping all this in perspective, OpenVPN is a notable absence in PrefectVPN’s service.

Online Streaming: Does not Unblock Netflix

Netflix has become a behemoth in the world of online streaming.

However, much of its content is locked away from non-US subscribers.

This is due to the murky licensing agreement Netflix has with different production companies.

So to enjoy every gem Netflix has to offer, one needs a VPN.

But some VPN do not have the power to get past Netflix’s firewall.

PerfectVPN is among this unfortunate bunch.

It was not able to open Netflix US in my tests. However, it worked fine on Hulu.

So if you want enjoy the latest season of The Handmaid’s Tale, PerfectVPN is a good choice for a VPN.

Limited Server Spread

The server spread of this VPN is not that impressive. Especially considering that many VPN providers are breaching the thousand mark with their server list.

Perfect VPN has 20 servers spread across 16 countries.

It has several servers in the United States while UK, Canada, Germany and France are also in the mix.

France, Singapore, Russia, Netherlands, Australia, Malaysia and Switzerland enjoy presence in PerfectVPN’s server list.

Cross-Platform Compatibility

Smartphones, Laptop and Personal Computers all have their unique appeal.

Moreover, all of these devices are vulnerable to online threats.

That’s why, you need a VPN service that works with multitudes of devices.

PerfectVPN for instance, is compatible with Windows, MacOS, Android and iPhone.

Pricing Plans

At the start of this PerfectVPN review, I specifically mentioned the unique pricing plans of this service.

That is because PerfectVPN has four extremely unique packages.

You can get this VPN for different prices depending on your budget constrictions and online privacy needs.

All packages boast 5 simultaneous connection but differ in bandwidth limitation and number of IP addresses.

PerfectVPN-Pricing-Plans

Static Plan

Static plan has a 100 GB Bandwidth limit and provides access to all of PerfectVPN’s shared IPs.

  • $1.75 for a month
  • $4.75 for 3 months
  • $9.50 for 6 months
  • $19.00 for a year

Dedicated Plan

It has unlimited bandwidth and a dedicated IP, which is a personalized IP address for an individual user.

  • $5.00 for a month
  • $13.00 for 3 month
  • $26.00 for 6 month
  • $45.00 for a year

Unlimited BW

If you are not a fan of dedicated IPs, you can go for the Unlimited BW plan. It has no bandwidth restrictions and provides access to all the available IPs

  • $5.00 for a month
  • $13.00 for 3 month
  • $26.00 for 6 month
  • $45.00 for a year

Dynamic Plan

For budget conscious users, Dynamic Plan provides access to +50 USA and UK IPs. It is the cheapest plan on offer.

Payment Methods

PerfectVPN-Payment-Methods

There are plenty of online methods through which you can pay PerfectVPN:

  • PayPal
  • WebMoney
  • EGOPAY
  • OKPAY
  • Perfect Money
  • Liqpay
  • Credit cards
  • Online Naria
  • CashU

Unfortunately, the provider does not accept cryptocurrencies. This is another factor that disappointed me in this PerfectVPN Review.

Refund Policy

Once subscribed to this VPN, you can claim a refund within the first 7 days. This gives you plenty of time to test out its performance.

PerfectVPN Alternatives

Not impressed by PerfectVPN’s offerings? Maybe the following VPNs have the goods you desire.

Social Media Review

Being a little-known VPN provider, PerfectVPN does not have a big hype on social media.

However, it gets a shout-out from satisfied users every now and then.

Of course, providing an exclusive payment mode to African users has created some buzz about the VPN.

Final Verdict

Usually, I do not rate VPNs without dedicated apps that highly. However, PerfectVPN got my attention with its impressive speed and easy usability.

Setting up this VPN is a walk in the park. It does not leak your IP and has a decent customer support to go with.

The free trial feature is also a huge plus.

That said, there few things make this VPN far from perfect.

It does not possess OpenVPN and a limited server spread.

Not to forget, one cannot use this VPN to access Netflix US.

Overall, the crux of this PerfectVPN review is that this service has some nifty features. But it cannot compete with the top VPNs with its current specifications.
