Salt Lake City, December 30, 2024 —Hackers exploited ZAGG’s third-party app to steal thousands of credit card records. Customers must act quickly to protect their identities as fallout continues.
In a shocking revelation, consumer electronics giant ZAGG Inc. confirmed a devastating data breach that exposed thousands of customers’ sensitive credit card information.
Hackers exploited a third-party application, FreshClick, integrated into ZAGG’s e-commerce platform hosted by BigCommerce, to siphon off names, addresses, and payment card details.
The breach occurred between October 26 and November 7, 2024, with attackers injecting malicious code into FreshClick to scrape customer payment data during checkout. Affected customers are now at risk of identity theft and fraud.
ZAGG immediately acted to secure its systems upon notification from BigCommerce. ZAGG stated in its breach notification:
