Israeli cybersecurity firm Upwind Security is reportedly in discussions to secure $100 million in funding, potentially pushing its valuation to between $850 million and $900 million. The cloud-native application protection provider seeks to expand its platform capabilities, which protect Kubernetes and containerized environments using cutting-edge technologies like eBPF DaemonSets and Kubernetes audit logs.
Founded by Amiram Shachar, along with Spot veterans (acquired by NetApp for $450 million), Upwind first launched with a $50 million round in September 2023. The company’s growth mirrors the rise in demand for robust cloud-native security solutions as enterprises confront increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
Upwind’s core offering combines runtime data with build-time insights, allowing security teams to identify, mitigate, and resolve threats across the application lifecycle. This new funding round, if successful, will support Upwind’s mission to expand its reach and adapt to evolving cybersecurity needs.
