Espoo, November 5 —Nokia investigates a potential source code theft by hacker IntelBroker after a breach in a third-party vendor’s server, raising concerns over third-party security.

Telecommunications giant Nokia faces a potentially severe cybersecurity dilemma after a hacker, known as IntelBroker, claimed to have stolen the company’s source code from a third-party vendor. This alarming revelation has spotlighted vulnerabilities in third-party partnerships that major corporations rely on for software development.

The breach surfaced when IntelBroker began advertising a large collection” of Nokia’s source code for sale. The hacker allegedly gained access by exploiting default credentials to enter a SonarQube server used by a contractor closely affiliated with Nokia. Data exposed reportedly includes SSH keys, RSA keys, BitBucket logins, SMTP accounts, and hardcoded credentials.

This breach comes amid a wave of incidents linked to IntelBroker, including past intrusions into DC Health Link, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and other high-profile targets. The hacker’s move has reignited discussions about the risks of outsourcing to third-party developers, as even the most basic security oversights can lead to significant exposure.
