The breach exposed Social Security numbers, medical diagnoses, and financial details, leaving thousands of individuals vulnerable to identity theft and fraud.
Bassford Remele, a Minneapolis-based law firm representing healthcare clients, reported that a hacker infiltrated an employee’s email account for over a month. During this time, cybercriminals stole private medical records, financial data, and legal documents. A cybersecurity expert Daniel Morris said:

Meanwhile, Scott County, Iowa, confirmed that an employee’s email was hacked, exposing Social Security numbers, health insurance records, and confidential patient data. The breach impacted over 4,300 individuals, prompting officials to enhance cybersecurity measures.
A data privacy advocate Lisa Graham warned:
