California, March 4, 2025 –Google’s latest update patches 44 security flaws, including two critical vulnerabilities already under attack.
In a major security shake-up, Google has rolled out its March 2025 Android Security Update, addressing a staggering 44 vulnerabilities—including two actively exploited flaws that could have put millions of users at risk!
Google’s latest update fixes CVE-2024-43093, a privilege escalation flaw that could grant unauthorized access to sensitive directories. Another critical flaw, CVE-2024-50302, allows attackers to leak uninitialized kernel memory—a weakness that hackers actively used in targeted attacks.
Cybersecurity expert James Porter warned:
These vulnerabilities are serious. Hackers were already exploiting them before Google could patch them. Every Android user must update immediately.
Shockingly, CVE-2024-43093 was previously flagged by Google in November 2024—but it remains a threat! Meanwhile, CVE-2024-50302 was part of a zero-day attack linked to Cellebrite, which allegedly used it to hack an activist’s phone.
Tech analyst Sarah Jennings called it a wake-up call, stating:
This proves once again how vulnerable mobile security is. Android users can’t afford to delay updates.
Google has released two patch levels, 2025-03-01 and 2025-03-05—to help manufacturers roll out fixes faster. Users are urged to install the update immediately.
