LimeVPN Review 2023 – Details, Features and Pricing

LimeVPN is an impressive VPN service that provides various privacy features still, we have explored in this LimeVPN review, the provider has few demerits too. Thus, VPNs like ExpressVPN allow torrenting, delivers servers in 17 locations, unblock US Netflix and has excellent customer support.

LimeVPN-Review-in-USA

In this LimeVPN review , we will test the provider in 7 categories, including speed, streaming, pricing, compatibility, security, and more, to help you make a considerate decision on whether you should use this VPN or not.

LimeVPN recently blacklisted a lot of IP addresses to stop the abuse. The website appears to be unavailable on many computers as a result. We advise choosing ExpressVPN as your preferred VPN if you are unable to access LimeVPN’s website.

If you can get LimeVPN to work, the good news is that it’s a decent VPN for unblocking Netflix. Even though we didn’t succeed completely, we were able to unblock Netflix in the US.

However, we couldn’t get past the geo-restriction error on other popular streaming sites when we tested LimeVPN with Hulu, HBO Max, and Disney Plus. Therefore, if you want the best VPN service, you are better off with top-premium VPNs like ExpressVPN or Surfshark.

LimeVPN Review : Pricing – How Much Does LimeVPN Cost?

LimeVPN has two VPN products; LimeVPN Basic and LimeVPN Pro. Both plans have 3 types of billing cycles; monthly, annual, and biennial (2-year).

The LimeVPN Basic plan costs $2.49 monthly, $24 annually, and $48 biennially. However, the LimeVPN Pro plan costs $19.99 monthly, $179.76 annually, and $264 biennially.

LimeVPN Basic Plan

LimeVPN Pro Plan

The difference between the Basic Plan and Pro Plan is the number of multi-logins. You get 20+ multi-logins with the Pro Plan. Also, it offers a dedicated IP feature to its users and a lot of other features that Basic Plan lacks. You can also find some cheap VPN that cost nearly as LimeVPN.

Payment Methods

You can pay for LimeVPN with PayPal, Discover, Visa, MasterCard, and Bitcoin. The provider also advertises that it supports payments via Amazon. However, we couldn’t see the option on the checkout page.

Here is a list of payment methods accepted by LimeVPN:

  • PayPal
  • VISA
  • MasterCard
  • American Express
  • Discover
  • Amazon
  • Bitcoin

Money-Back Guarantee

While LimeVPN claims to offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, to get your money back, you’ll have to go through many obstacles. It’s interesting to note that the refund policy excludes the inability to unblock particular websites or issues with speed.

So downtime isn’t a valid reason for a refund. The structure of the refund procedures is restrictive for such a costly VPN, making it challenging to get your money back even if you have a real problem with the service.

Overall, LimeVPN is quite cheap in terms of pricing. But if you’re looking for a more premium VPN at low prices, check out our awesome VPN deals to get amazing discounts!

LimeVPN Review : Security – Encryption & Features

LimeVPN uses 256-bit military-grade encryption, the strongest in the VPN industry. The provider currently offers PPTP, OpenVPN or SoftEther, L2TP, and SSTP.

OpenVPN SSL and SoftEther protocols are excellent for impregnable data protection.

The server also offers SOCKS proxy, HTTPS proxy, IKEA UDP, and TCP protocols. The SOCKS proxy and HTTP proxy are great options if you are searching for optimum speed.

LimeVPN Review : Speed – How Fast is LimeVPN?

LimeVPN speed is just average. It has separate servers for streaming in the US and the UK to watch location-based content.

My internet speed before connecting to the LimeVPN server was 31 Mbps. But as I connected to its Amsterdam server, my speed declined to 13.45 Mbps.

Here is the speed test result:

While LimeVPN is not the fastest VPN, it didn’t annoy us much while carrying out casual browsing and streaming activities. However, it is not an ideal choice if you’re a heavy streamer or gamer.

LimeVPN Review : Streaming – Does It Work with Netflix?

Yes, LimeVPN can unblock US Netflix. But that’s it! LimeVPN doesn’t work with other popular streaming services.

We tried to access Netflix by connecting to the US – New York server and the VPN unblocked the US library with ease. However, when we tried other popular VoDs like Hulu, BBC iPlayer, HBO Max, and Disney Plus, we couldn’t get past the geo-restriction error.

The limitation of only being able to unblock one Netflix library, coupled with the evolving challenge of streaming giants like Netflix eliminating VPN-generated IP addresses, underscores the importance of selecting the best VPN for streaming. In this context, ExpressVPN emerges as the recommended choice, known for its exceptional capabilities in overcoming geo-restrictions imposed by streaming services.

Torrenting

In our LimeVPN review , I found that it has only 1 server that works with Torrenting. This is server-based in Amsterdam. You can download torrents with only the Amsterdam server.

If you mistakenly use another server for torrenting, it will get you in trouble. It also works well with Kodi streaming players. Yes, it works on Kodi and lets you watch Live TV from anywhere and stream Movies anonymously.

There happen to be many more VPNs that work exceptionally well with this media player. I have a list of the best free VPN for Kodi to help you in anonymous streaming free content.

Leaks – Does It Leak IP, DNS & WebRTC?

I could not find any leaks in all of these tests. I connected to the same Amsterdam server, the one I used to test speed.

Here are the leak test results.

Trustworthiness

It’s good to know that LimeVPN does not store any logs. It is safe to assume that LimeVPN is a safe VPN service.

Here is the privacy statement:

“Each time you connect to LimeVPN, your connection gets dynamic IP which is one of 6000+ anonymous IPs in our pool. Therefore, your real IP becomes masked.”

That’s partially correct. It will be hard to decipher your dynamic IP, but if they already know your original IP, they could easily track it. It also states that they have their own servers. The technology behind LimeVPN was fully developed in-house, so your data remains completely private.

Customer Support

It has good customer support. You can contact their support staff by creating a Ticket. Other than that, it has a FAQs page and Troubleshooting.

It previously had live chat support but is not currently offering it. Most importantly, Lime VPN offers a support page where you’ll find FAQs, troubleshooting, and contact support.

To further assist the users, Lime VPN offers a how-to-use page for VPN tutorials.

Compatibility – Apps and Supported Devices

LimeVPN is compatible with Windows, iOS, macOS, Android, Linux, and Routers. However, the VPN doesn’t offer native apps for these platforms except for Android.

This means you’ll need to perform manual configuration to use the VPN on your device, which can get complicated for users. While the majority of high-end VPNs offer Windows clients, LimeVPN encourages the use of SoftEther, OpenVPN, PPTP, and 5 other protocols.

Compatibility-of-platforms-in-USA

For devices such as Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Linux, Chromebook, and routers, you can follow the setup guides. Compatible routers include ASUS, D-Link, TP-Link, Mikrotik, Linksys, OpenWRT, D-Link, and Tomato, all of which support OpenVPN. You can easily cover your devices that have no VPN support including Smart TVs, Apple TV, PS4, Xbox, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and more with your VPN-enabled router.

FAQs: LimeVPN Review

No, you cannot use LimeVPN for free . However, you can utilize its 30-day money-back guarantee offer to ask for a refund by generating a refund request in under 30 days. But keep in mind that the return procedure is rigorous and that its refund policy disallows factors like poor speeds or the inability to unblock certain websites.

Yes, LimeVPN is good on the security front . However, the VPN is not up to the mark for its global reach. Only offering servers in 17 locations, LimeVPN cannot unblock popular streaming sites or deliver fast speed.Instead, sign up for a top-tier VPN like ExpressVPN or NordVPN that offers a rich pool of servers, blazing-fast speed, and streaming-optimized servers for popular VoDs.

No, LimeVPN is not safe . While the VPN uses the military-grade AES 256-bit encryption system that kept our IP address hidden and no DNS leaks were detected, a LimeVPN server was recently hacked, exposing sensitive information of users.

LimeVPN Review : Do I Recommend LimeVPN?

No, we do not recommend LimeVPN.LimeVPN might look like it is the cheapest VPN, but honestly, it is the most expensive VPN I reviewed. Its Basic Plan is the cheapest, but it doesn’t offer as many features as the Pro Plan. It has servers in only 17 locations which isn’t much considering the price they are charging. Its speed is pathetic, and it doesn’t offer native apps, making it difficult to use.Overall, after weighing all the pros and cons of this LimeVPN review , we wouldn’t recommend this VPN to our readers.
