TunnelBear is an awesome VPN service that’s renowned for its whimsical animations and secure apps. Although this VPN service is a bit expensive compared to other VPNs like Surfshark, it also comes in a totally free package.

Even though not feature-rich, the TunnelBear free trial still allows you to test out most of its features without providing credit card details. You get access to most of its servers and even its security features.

That said, the only thing I don’t like about the free app is the fact that it only offers 500MBs of data each month. But if you’re still interested in availing try out TunnelBear, I’m going to show you 4 simple steps to try this VPN for free in this short guide.

TunnelBear download free trial

If I haven’t already made my self clear yet, TunnelBear offers a totally free version instead of a limited-time free trial. If you’re interested in getting your hands on the Free trial of TunnelBear, just follow the steps below to get started:

1. First things first, head over TunnelBear’s website and click on the “Try for free” button.

4. Now, type in an email and a password and finally click on “Create a Free Account” button to get started.

Now you’re all set to try out TunnelBear for free. If 500MB monthly data limit is not enough for you, then you can simply tweet to get 1GB additional data added to your TunnelBear VPN free trial.

What do you get with the TunnelBear free trial account?

As I said, TunnelBear free is only meant for testing purposes which is why they’ve clearly mentioned “Testing and limited usage” on their free plan. With the free plan, you only get 500MB data per month. Now, this is enough for general browsing, however, if you’re a heavy user, you’ll quickly run out of data.

You can further add 1GB free data if just tweet about TunnelBear, however, it’s still not enough for heavy users. In comparison, NordVPN free trial allows you to test out all of its features without any restrictions for 7-days.

Anyways, aside from data limits, TunnelBear gives you access to all of its servers in 23 countries, 256-bit encryption, and fluid apps for almost all operating systems.

All and all, you do get pretty decent features with TunnelBear free trial, however, if you’re not a fan of restrictions, definitely check out NordVPN.

No 30-day refund policy

Unlike other VPN like NordVPN or Surfshark that offer 30-days refunds, TunnelBear has no designated money-back guarantee. Yup, that’s right, if you plan on using the paid version of TunnelBear and get a refund later on, you’re out of luck.

If you still want to purchase TunnelBear, I would suggest going for the unlimited plan which costs $4.17/month and offers things like 5 multi logins and priority customer service. But then again, in comparison, Surfshark only starts from $1.99/mo and offer far better features.

Done testing TunnelBear free trial, what’s next?

So now that you’ve fully tested TunnelBear, or perhaps the 500MB monthly data limit is not enough for you, you can either go for the paid subscription of TunnelBear or just look for other free trial VPNs to try.

If you’re interested in trying out other VPNs, I would suggest checking out Surfshark or NordVPN that both offer 7-day free trials. You will have to provide credit card details, however, you will not get charged until your trial ends.

If you don’t wish to provide credit card details, you can go with either CyberGhost free trial or ProtonVPN free trial. You will not have to provide credit card details and still get to test out all of their features.

Wrapping Up!

TunnelBear might offer a totally free plan, however, it only offers 500MB monthly data limit and no 30-days money-back guarantee.

Now I’m not saying you shouldn’t try TunnelBear free trial, It’s just that there are far better VPNs out there that also offer free trials. For instance, both NordVPN and Surfshark offer more servers and better security features.
