b.VPN stands for Barq VPN, and Barq means fast in Arabic. b.VPN is a Netherlands-based company, that officially started back in 2014.

As per this b.VPN review in Canada does not have a multitude of servers like PureVPN and ExpressVPN that don’t allow Netflix. However, it still helps users perform torrenting tasks securely from Canada.

Moreover, the service does not offer an eye-catching connection speed to its users in Canada. Above all, it mainly hails from an unsafe jurisdiction Netherlands. Hence, I don’t recommend the service to internet users throughout the world.

b.VPN Review in Canada – Rating Criteria

I have examined b.VPN according to my own developed 9 steps criteria consists of:

  1. Jurisdiction – Where is this VPN located?
  2. Security – Is this VPN Secure enough in Canada?
  3. Leaks – Does it leak IP, DNS & WebRTC?
  4. Servers – Are they P2P compatible?
  5. Speed – Not on the higher side
  6. Streaming – Does it work with Netflix & other VoD services in Canada?
  7. Compatibility – Apps and supported devices
  8. Pricing – What is the cost of b.VPN in Canada?
  9. Trustworthiness – Trustpilot Ratings, Reddit & Customer Support

Jurisdiction – Where is b.VPN located?

Unfortunately, the VPN mainly resides in a somewhat dangerous jurisdiction in the Netherlands. The country is a member of the 14 eyes alliance.

Therefore, they may share their users’ online browsing information if needed.

Security – Is this VPN Secure enough?

b.VPN categorically states on its website that it does not keep users’ logs but stores connection logs of its users intentionally in Canada.

Apart from this, they have to store their subscribers’ email addresses, payment methods, and registration dates. Remember, their headquarter are situated in the Netherlands, which is not a good sign from a privacy perspective.

However, they have done enough homework when it comes to discussing their tunneling protocols and encryption levels. They provide OpenVPN, SSH, L2TP, and Smoke tunneling protocols to their users in Canada.

Interestingly, OpenVPN which is considered one of the safest protocols in town uses 256-bit military-grade encryption by default. Similarly, you can use other privacy features like an internet kill switch to secure your numerous online activities upfront in Canada.

Leaks – IP, DNS, WebRTC & Virus Tests

We found in our b.VPN review in Canada that it is safe to use because it will not leak your DNS, WebRTC, or IP address information online. Here are the snapshots:

IP Leak:

First, I tested b.VPN for IP leaks while using its Austria server. As you can see from the screenshot below, it didn’t leak my IP address.

DNS Leak:

Next, I checked for DNS leaks and it passed this test too. As you can see from the screenshot below, I’m connected to a DNS server from Austria.

WebRTC Leak:

As for WebRTC leaks, again, b.VPN showed no sign of leaks. Even after double-checking, it showed no signs of obvious WebRTC leaks.

Virus Test:

I checked its Android app link through VirusTotal and received no virus at all.

Servers – Are they P2P compatible?

At present, the service only offers a handful of 45+ servers in 20 countries globally. The provider has to improve its prevailing server network because other VPNs are offering the same feature in huge numbers.

On the other hand, b.VPN supports its users’ P2P activities in the right way in Canada.

Speed – Not on the higher side

As expected, b.VPN does not deliver impressive connection speeds in Canada. When I connected to its Austrian server using my 30 Mbps internet connection, I received the following 7.71 Mbps download speed:

From the above screenshot, you can see a downward spike of 75% in speed.

Streaming – Does it unblock US Netflix?

When it comes to watching US Netflix TV shows or movies, b.VPN may not be a perfect solution. For that reason, you will have to consider using other VPNs like ExpressVPN, NordVPN, Surfshark, or PureVPN. As in our b.VPN review in Canada we were unable to unblock US Netflix or any other streaming channel in Canada.

Compatibility – Apps and supported devices

In terms of compatibility, the provider supports different operating systems such as Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS. Likewise, you can install the service on the Linux platform manually.

To my surprise, you can protect your six (6) different devices at once with a single b.VPN account in Canada.

Pricing – What is the cost of b.VPN?

b.VPN follows an expensive pricing strategy overall in Canada. Currently, you can choose any plan of your choice from three (3) pricing plans that include:

Moreover, b.VPN offers a huge variety of payment options in Canada including anonymous payment methods such as Bitcoins and Ethereum and conventional ones like Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, and much more such as WebMoney, Mint, OneCard, CASHU, iDeal, Fanapay.

In addition to this b.VPN review in Canada, you can avail of its free trial feature for an undefined or limited time period. On the contrary, the service has stopped offering any kind of money-back or refund policy to its users in Canada.

Trustworthiness – Trustpilot ratings, Reddit & Customer Support

Surprisingly, b.VPN does not have a strong presence on Trustpilot and Reddit as well. The service would have to become socially active if it has to increase its current user base considerably.

Otherwise, the VPN will be facing an uphill task in the shape of intense competition from other VPNs in near future.

Customer Support

On the support front, the service has impressed its users a great deal. You can use the below-described options that consist of:

  • Live Chat
  • FAQs
  • Email
  • Phone Call
  • Download

You can attain the solution to your queries through phone calls if you don’t want to use email or other described options.

Alternatives of b.VPN in Canada

Most people have their own preferences regarding VPNs and hence, are not easily impressed by just any VPN provider.

If for some reason, you are unsatisfied with this VPN then I recommend you to read the following reviews in Canada.

Do I Recommend b.VPN in Canada?

No, I don’t recommend b.VPN to users in Canada to be really honest. The service does a superb job when you evaluate its customer support section.

On other fronts like server spread, speed, jurisdiction, logging, and Netflix unblocking, b.VPN has a long way to go. Furthermore, the service does not seem to be active on different social media platforms like Reddit as well.

That said b.VPN offers impressive privacy features in terms of tunneling protocols and encryption too in Canada.

Based on the above-detailed analysis of b.VPN review in Canada, I would give the service a 2.8/5.0 stars rating.
