Baku 2015 European Games – History in the Making
First of its kind, the Baku 2015 European Games will start from the 12th of June, 2015 featuring the athletes of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of Europe only. Since the concept is new, this will be the first edition of European Games 2015.
With more than 6000 athletes participating in the Baku 2015 European Games, the event comprises of 20 sports – ranging from Archery to Wrestling. Being held in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan, the hosting rights to Baku were given three years ago in a meeting in Rome. It has already been decided that the Baku 2015 European Olympic Games will be held every four years, with the next one due in 2019.
