Australian Government Plans on Banning Torrents

Reading Time: 1 minutes

A long time ago, there was online freedom. Torrents roamed free and the people of the world could stream anything they wanted; then came Geo-IP restrictions and censorship. Torrents became fugitives.

The Australian Government is not in a good mood. I can tell because they are considering blocking torrents. This means that you won’t be able to download any torrents if you are anywhere in Australia.

The Australian Government is not kidding around. They plan on roping in Internet Service providers and local file sharing companies in order to make sure that there are no loopholes and backdoors left uncovered.

Australia has put a lot of planning into this anti-torrent campaign, and now it has finally decided to go medieval on online file sharing. Now we all agree that illegal file sharing is bad, especially when it comes with copyright infringement.

That is simply wrong and unacceptable. But that doesn’t mean you should completely block something as wonderful and heavenly as Torrents.

I think that Torrents is the best piece of internet technology that has ever come out. That is why it hasn’t grown obsolete as yet. But it seems that the Australian Government doesn’t entirely agree. Saddle up and get ready to break out your VPNs fellow torrent lovers. It’s about to get wild!
