VyprVPN Deals

VyprVPN is a brainchild of Golden Frog that delivers its services in 70+ countries with 700+ servers including Australia.

It offers numerous privacy features like an internet kill switch, Chameleon, and DNS protection, which I found during this VyprVPN review in Australia.

It is more than a useful VPN as it offers impressive customer support along with decent tunneling protocols and encryption benefits. It also unblocks US Netflix but does not allow torrenting.

Surprisingly, it does not have anonymous payment options other VPNs such as ExpressVPN that offer such luxury to their users in Australia.

That said, their pricing strategy is a bit expensive that may not allow them to increase their customer base to a certain degree.

Therefore, I don’t recommend this VPN to privacy-conscious netizens.

Or you can go over our VPN reviews guide if you want to check out the key features of other providers.

Pricing – How much does VyprVPN cost in Australia?

In terms of pricing, the service offers four types of expensive pricing plans to their users, and these are:

Currently, VyprVPN accepts the following payment methods in Australia:

  • Visa/Visa Debit
  • American Express
  • Discover
  • PayPal
  • MasterCard/MasterCard Debit
  • JCB

You can avail of other exciting benefits like multi-login that allows you to secure your 30 different devices with a single account. Moreover, you can also try out VyprVPN free trail for Australian users through the 30 day money-back guarantee.

If you cancel VyprVPN within 30 days, you are eligible to get your refund back. Therefore, you can use it free of cost for 30 days and cancel to get a full refund. Due to its extensive refund policy, it is a great free VPN for Firestick in Australia and other devices with unlimited bandwidth.

Security – Protocols, Encryption & other features

With a broad range of secure encryption protocols, VyprVPN fulfills users’ most anticipated needs of all levels. Currently, the VPN sports the following protocols.

  • PPTP protocol with a 128-bit basic encryption
  • L2TP/IPSec protocol with 256-bit military-grade encryption
  • OpenVPN protocol with 160 to 256-bit strong encryption for reliable data protection
  • Chameleon proprietary protocol to bypass ISP Throttling & DPI

Other Features

VyprVPN has other privacy benefits in its armories, such as Chameleon, Kill Switch, VyprVPN Cloud, and NAT Firewall.

The parent company has developed a remarkable proprietary technology, “Chameleon,” which scrambles packet metadata using OpenVPN 256 bit protocol, allowing users to bypass DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) in countries with aggressive internet censorship.

Chameleon has successfully aided netizens in circumventing VPN blocking and packet filtering techniques implemented in China, Russia, UAE, Turkey & Syria.

The proprietary technology Chameleon is currently offering the VyprVPN pro or VyprVPN premium plan. The protocol is available to use with only Windows, Mac OS X, Android, and flashed routers.

If you want to know more about the obfuscation feature, read this comprehensive guide.

As far as the kill switch goes, it blocks your internet traffic whenever the VPN connection drops. Likewise, the Cloud feature allows its users to access cloud servers with an additional layer of security.

Through the VyprVPN cloud, you can connect to your local network and VyprVPN’s servers and remain secure. The following platforms are currently compatible with VyprVPN:

  • DigitalOcean
  • VirtualBox
  • Amazon Web Services

On the other hand, NAT Firewall protects users from thousands of malware and hackers who are waiting to enter the system through unsecured connections left open by some applications.

Jurisdiction – is it located in 5 eye country?

VyprVPN works under an umbrella company called Golden Frog.

The company is based in Switzerland, a country with privacy-friendly laws, meaning that it must not maintain customer data. It does not belong to the five eyes alliance.

Still, the country has its own data retention laws and internet privacy regulations that may hamper users’ privacy significantly.

Server Network

VyprVPN offers a multitude of servers (700+) in 70+ countries of the world. This way, you can select your preferred server and protect your digital footprints from anywhere in no time.

With VyprVPN’s full control over their server and the dedicated VPN server, unwanted guests will stay far away from your personal information.

If you face any connectivity issues, see this discussion regarding VyprVPN not working for tips on resolving the problem.

Speed – Is VyprVPN fast?

On the speed front, VyprVPN delivers impressive connection speed to its users. When I conducted my VyprVPN speed test in Australia, I was quite impressed by its performance. Here’s a brief table with all the speed test results compiled for your convenience.

Server locationDownload speedUpload speedPings
 Australia67.25 Mbps44.17 Mbps128 ms
 Germany77.42 Mbps87.5 Mbps264 ms
 France51.5 Mbps95 Mbps277 ms
Canada79.17 Mbps81.92 Mbps100 ms
 Netherlands89.17 Mbps94.17 Mbps262 ms
 Philippines90 Mbps95.84 Mbps126 ms
 New Zealand82.59 Mbps90 Mbps153 ms
 United States95.84 Mbps85.84 Mbps242 ms
 United Kingdom89.17 Mbps96.67 Mbps261 ms

VyprVPN didn’t show that much satisfactory speed performance as it should have, as it competitors are very good at speed for example NordVPN. VyprVPN was also failed in NordVPN vs. VyprVPN comparison in the speed tests.

Streaming – Does it unblock Netflix in Australia?

Interestingly, VyprVPN unblocks the US Netflix media library straightaway in Australia. This way, you can watch your favorite region-blocked media content be it TV shows or movies, on your desired devices anonymously. Also, you can use VyprVPN for torrenting if you are a regular user of p2p networks.

We could also stream Hulu outside the US after connecting to VyprVPN’s US server. It allowed us to watch The Handmaid’s Tale without any issues.

Leaks- IP, DNS, WebRTC & Virus Tests

During our VyprVPN review in Australia we came to know that it is a secure and safe to use VPN as it does not have leaking issues. Here are the snapshots as proof:

IP Leak:

First, I tested for IP leaks while using its Netherlands server. As you can see from the screenshot below, it didn’t leak my IP address.

DNS Leak:

Next, I checked for DNS leaks, and it passed this test too. As you can see from the screenshot below, I’m connected to a DNS server from the Netherlands.

WebRTC Leak:

As for WebRTC leaks, again, it showed no sign of leaks. Even after double-checking, it showed no signs of obvious WebRTC leaks.

Virus Test

I tested its setup file through VirusTotal and luckily did not find any virus or malware in the file. Here is the screenshot:

Trustworthiness – Logging Policy & Customer Support

VyprVPN follows the concept of not logging in the right way. Previously, VyprVPN had to keep session logs of its users for 30 days. Fortunately, this is not the case anymore. Recently, they have updated their privacy policy and have become a no-log VPN.

Customer Support

On the support front, VyprVPN delivers options that consist of:

  • Email
  • FAQs
  • Live Chat

You can send your queries with an email if you want a detailed answer in black and white. Moreover, you can use their dedicated FAQ page that offers insights about different questions appropriately.

Through its live chat feature, you can get the solution to all your VPN-related problems stress-free.

Compatibility – How many devices do VyprVPN support?

VyprVPN is compatible with numerous platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS. Likewise, you can install the service on your routers and smart TVs as well.

That said, it is not compatible with TOR (The Onion Router). However, it delivers one of the simplest user interfaces to its users.

Once you have downloaded the app, you can start using it after clicking a few buttons. With its settings menu, you can choose your preferred protocols in no time.

Other than the main desktop and mobile apps, you can also install VyprVPN on Fire Stick, Kodi  as well as Roku. We have separate setup guides if you’re interested in that.

Alternatives to VyprVPN in Australia

If for any reason, you are not satisfied with this VyprVPN Review in Australia, you can always opt for its alternative in the market. I have the list below:

Do I Recommend VyprVPN in Australia?

After this VyprVPN review in Australia. Yes, I do recommend VyprVPN.

Even though their pricing strategy is on the higher side and they don’t support the torrenting activities of their users. It is a secure VPN offering tight data security and encryption.

On the other hand, it unblocks US Netflix and offers 700+ servers in 70 countries including Australia

After assessing Golden Frog’s VPN’s service features in this VyprVPN review in Australia, I give 3/5 to their service.
