SaturnVPN has a low price but is based in the US, making it a part of the 5 eyes country.

Its privacy policy clearly states that it will not release any information about you except for law enforcement. This means, whenever the authorities ask for your data, SaturnVPN will hand over it without questions in Australia.

Its server speed is too slow, and it isn’t able to unblock Netflix or other streaming services in Australia.

I would recommend affordable VPNs instead (ExpressVPN or Surfshark) with good features and the absolute best encryption in Australia. You can also check out our tested and recommended best VPN for Australia in 2023.

SaturnVPN Review in Australia – Rating Criteria

Here are the 8-factor rating criteria based on which I have performed the SaturnVPN review in Australia:

  1. Pricing – How much does SaturnVPN cost in Australia?
  2. Security – Encryption & features
  3. Jurisdiction – Is it located in a 5-eyes country?
  4. Speed – How fast is SaturnVPN?
  5. Streaming – Does it work with Netflix in Australia?
  6. Leaks – Does it leak IP, DNS & WebRTC?
  7. Trustworthiness – Logs and customer support
  8. Compatibility – Apps and supported devices

Pricing – How much does SaturnVPN cost in Australia?

SaturnVPN has the cheapest pricing plan in Australia. It covers 3 different plans; these are listed below:

saturnvpn-price

The company’s pricing plan makes it one of the cheapest VPN services available in Australia today. However, keeping in mind that it does not have a stand-alone application of its own justifies the price.

It does give users a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Payment Methods

There are only two ways you can make payments for SaturnVPN in Australia:

  • PayPal
  • PayPal Credit

Free Trial

SaturnVPN offers a 24-hours free trial. You need to set up their app manually on your device. Here is the credential for SaturnVPN:

Username: saturnvpn

Password: 12345

The free trial version only connects to US, UK, & DE VPN servers with L2TP and PPTP protocols. But there’s a catch. The free VPN disconnects every 5 minutes.

Security – Encryption & features

In my SaturnVPN review in Australia, there is no mention of an encryption level offered by SaturnVPN. It only mentions what type of protocols they are offering.

Here is a list of protocols:

  • PTP
  • L2TP
  • SSTP
  • OpenVPN
  • Cisco VPN

The industry norm is 256-bit encryption, which is the highest level of encryption.

Jurisdiction –Is it located in a 5-eyes country?

SaturnVPN is based in Houston (Texas). The company was initiated in 2013 by four individuals and has recently got another partner on board.

Since it is based in the US, it makes a part of 5 eyes countries. This means the US authorities have every right to gain access to your data.

Even if the VPN boasts of protecting users’ online privacy, it can do nothing when the authorities come for it.

Servers

saturnvpn-servers

SaturnVPN has 100 servers available in 13 countries including servers in Australia. Currently, it has around 16,000 active users who have subscribed to its service.

These countries include the UK, the US, and Denmark.

Speed – How fast is SaturnVPN?

SaturnVPN speed is very slow. Needless to say, it has only 53 servers that carry a lot of loads. These servers perform slowly when there are a greater number of active users online.

I connected to their Denmark server to check for speed. Before connecting with SaturnVPN was 32 Mbps, while the speed was 12.67 Mbps after connecting.

Here is the speed test result:

Streaming –Does it work with Netflix in Australia?

Of course Not. It does not work with Netflix or any other streaming services in Australia.

SaturnVPN has limited servers in the US, and all of its servers are blacklisted in the Netflix directory. Netflix has a strong VPN detection system that can easily identify which traffic is VPN traffic. SaturnVPN does not have the technology to bypass Netflix restrictions.

I also found in our SaturnVPN review in Australia that it does not support P2P torrenting as well. But it works on Kodi, though. If you’re on Windows, install its Windows client and start unblocking Live TV Channels on Kodi. There’s no additional thing to do for streaming.

Unless you need to shift to another VPN while using this media player, refer to my guide on top VPN for Kodi.

Leaks – Does it leak IP, DNS & WebRTC?

SaturnVPN easily passed the IP, DNS, and WebRTC tests. To conduct the test, I used its Denmark server.

You will the results below:

Trustworthiness – Logs and customer support

SaturnVPN does keep logs in Australia, which means it is not a safe VPN to use. The first line of its privacy policy will gauge your attention:

It reads:

“We will never release any information about you or your account to anyone except law enforcement personnel with the proper documentation and paperwork.”

However, under American jurisdiction, this is a big NO for privacy and security seekers who do not want any monitoring and logging of their information.

Customer Support

While I performed the SaturnVPN review, I found that their customer service is impressive. There are three ways you can contact their customer support staff. These are Live Chat 24/7, Email, and by Phone (18179849696)

The response time for the live chat support is also good in Australia, and their staff keeps customers happy by solving their problems.

Compatibility – Apps and supported devices

SaturnVPN can be used on all operating systems such as:

  • iOS
  • Mac
  • Linux
  • Windows
  • Android

However, again because it does not have dedicated apps, you will have to set it up manually.

Do I Recommend SaturnVPN in Australia?

No, I do not recommend Saturn VPN in Australia.

SaturnVPN is based in the US, a country that falls under 5 eyes. This makes your online privacy vulnerable. It only has 100 servers available in only 23 countries, which is a bit on the low side.

It is a cheap VPN, that is true, but its price doesn’t have the features it is currently offering. Overall, I do not advise my readers to use this VPN as mentioned in my SaturnVPN Review in Australia.
